2017 Camaro SS 1LE w/ Procharger D1SC
I had this car set up last year, for the most part it seems to drive fine. Putting down 650rwhp on a consevative tune with a Alky controls meth injection system.
It had some surging and bucking issues. I took it back down to the shop that did the install and had them swap out the 1.5" PC BOV for a 2" Tial BOV. They went thru the tune and made some changes to the VVT tables that resolved the bucking/surging. Got the car home and a nagging issue still persists. From a dead stop if I let the clutch out and accelerate at a moderate pace some form of torque management is stepping until around 3500-4000 rpm's. When it stops it is like the car comes on like a raped ape. I have checked anything and everything mechanical and it's nothing mechanical. A member on the HPT forums overseas said the car has to use a LT4 map, which I asked about to Procharger and the shop and was told I didn't need one. The member pointed out the torque models were off, which they are since they are the stock SS 1LE tables. Anyone in here that went Procharged, did you change out the LT1 map for the LT4 map? Pray or Jannnety, can either one of you chime in on this? I am more than willing to pay for the help. I have tried getting the shop involved, it's a 4hr drive to them so that isn't the easiest way right now. |

You know what’s funny, is that my car isn’t boosted but it does the same thing. Even with all of the torque management essentially turned off. It’s incredibly frustrating. It’s like the car is dragging an anchor and then suddenly at 3-3200 rpm, it pulls stupid hard.

Sounds tuning related.

I’m having this same issue with a procharged 16m6. What is the fix?

Other people may have other experience, I have always had drivability issues with no cats, both with the stock header and LT. In all cases cats fixed my problem. Even when this car was NEW, early 2016, going to CA cat deletes would cause strange harmonics and on a few cars would pull timing due to false knock (assumed). Anyway with no cats low speed driving and part throttle tip-in was soggy as well as strange drone / sound harmonics. That would be 3 professional well known tuners and myself and when new, GM (only thing I turned off was the rear 02 monitoring). In my opinion, it is a harmonics issue with the M6 and no cats.
I will by spring do mandrel bent 2.5 from factory header to 2.5 metal cats directly horizontal, to Borla 60608 twin resonators at 2 and 3/4, to see if I can finally find a reasonable flowing solution with 100 percent stock drivability on a M6. In all cases, car works 100 percent fine with primary cats. |

A crappy tune from the shop who handled my Procharger install. They are drag racers and the tune was built more for drag racing than driveability. Ted found it in the 1st revision of his tune, it was torque management kicking in that wasnt addressed in the tune from the shop that handled the install. Car drives great now. |

sounds 100% like a tuning issue, its hard now a days to find reputable tuners for these 6th gens. Jannetty is ready to help so i'd give them a call for some great customer service!!!

You build is similar to mine, so you can put your car into 5th at 42 MPH and there it works just fine, sounds fine etc?

the one provided for my F1A setup isn't large enough to go over the KATECH. If possible can you send / attach a pic, i might need to alter mine a bit to make it work. :bonk: |
