SIM RACING SETUPS
went over to my buddys house yesterday and used his sim racing setup because round 3 of ongrid super gt cup is at streets of willow
its pretty damn cool but not sure how well it crosses over to real racing anybody mind posting up your setups and how much you spent> i have a xbox one and a 65" samsung hd tv my buddy told me he spent around 4k or so on his setup thanks guys |
Check out the sticky above. Lots of info in there. I was a long time iracer but ended up going too deep down the rabbit hole and ruined it. I sold my setup a year ago for $5k. Don't miss it really, you really need to dedicate some time to it to run with the fastest guys like anything. Then there's the aliens, which no matter how much I practiced I could never run with. It will absolutely help you learn a track and the fastest line, etc.

If you want something that will last long you might as well spend the money. But I never suggest anyone dive into it unless you're going to spend a lot of time driving. The stuff below is ideally what you need. However a G29 to a desk is sufficient for someone starting out.
Cockpit - Simlab Steering Base - Pick a DD base Wheel - Pick a wheel Quick DC - Pick one that will fit the wheel/base Pedals Monitors - 1 or 3 or VR Seat I can tell you my cost, Although I bought most of my stuff used. And most of it was bought years ago. The newest thing I have is the 3 monitors which are roughly 1 year old. Pedals - $1k Wheel - $1200 DD Base - $1000 Cockpit w/seat - $400 3 New monitors - $900 Button box - $50 DD Wheels can be found at better prices today, I've had mine for like 4 years now. And yes, it's a wire mess atm. https://i.imgur.com/IkVC5Vy.png https://i.imgur.com/BtnL0xA.png |

Damn there are some nice setups in here!! I personally have a rig built out of PVC pipe and a SRT4 Driver seat. I'll try and post some pics up.
I mainly Run GT with my buddies. There's about 10 of us that run a winter league. ACC is a great sim as well. Much harder than GT |

haha that sounds more like my style/budget tim ! post up some pics |
People pricing out the costs of their rigs here but I don't think I saw any pricing for the actual computers so far lol. A decent PC to run this will go for probably at least $2K now, not counting the monitors and whatnot...
