Thoughts/Comments on PAC MCI-GM51
Anyone installed this front/side camera interface? I've seen it mentioned in a couple of other threads, but no-one has ever gone into details on it.
I'm seriously considering it currently as it looks fairly noninvasive and I've put two holes in my front splitter already this spring (I HAVE GOT TO BE MORE CAREFUL!!) ... I'm going the front camera route in the hopes that if I buy it, I'll never need it :) https://pac-audio.com/catalog/safety...gm51&results=5 Thoughts and comments welcome! :happy0180: |

NavTV makes a couple of adapters that allow you to add both camera inputs as well as HDMI input to be displayed on your dash.
I used these to add a front camera, as well as to add ROKU TV to my car. Or, I can use my iPHONE HDMI adapter, and mirror my iPhone to the OEM screen https://navtv.com/products/NTV-KIT80...k-adapter.html https://navtv.com/products/NTV-KIT780/gm-lvds.html Me and my custom guy looked at the PAc unit, but the NavTV unit allowed me to do two things 1. Have an HDMI input to install a ROKU system so I have access to my movies online, vevo, youtube, etc. 2. Have the front camera input There are also units out there that will integrate with the OEM screen for surround view monitoring as well |
New question ... are there any “curb alert” type sensor systems that would work for angle parking as well as straight? I can’t seem to find anything with multiple sensors and I suspect thst would be what was needed.

This doesn't really help. He wants multiple sensors. Brandmotion only has a camera one and single front sensors. |

This is the reason I'm looking for for side sensors ... I clipped the drivers side corner of the splitter coming into the curved drive of a parking lot (took it a bit wide) ... Don't think a single sensor or front mount camera would have detected that. Right now the 3 camera interface of the pac-audio module is winning out for its ability to keep my paranoia down :) |

This is the next thing I am doing to the ZL1. This may be helpful also. Better than OEM 360 view setups |

Everything seems to be for the 8" screen. Is there a product for the 7"?
