2018 SS 1LE vs Mustang GT PP1 -- Head2Head coming

Just saw a post from Jonny Lieberman on Instagram with a pic of a red SS 1LE. From the post, it looks like a head2head is coming against the GT perf pack 1.

I'm wondering why they don't have a regular SS for the comparison or use a GT with PP2?

Can't wait to see how they compare!

PP2 won't be available until Spring 2018 if I recall correctly.

I didn't realize that. Then I think they should have used a regular SS, maybe with MRC and the 1LE suspension kit.

Why bother I think we know the 18 PP1 will not run with the 1LE on a track, maybe straight line. Wait for the PP2 then run them off.

Using Mustang fanboy logic... The 1LE is several model years old and was developed to compete against the 15 S550 PP. The 18 GT PP1 is new and therefore has the clear advantage

Yeah odd, a PP1 would have been a good car to put up with a regular SS.

I just hope they do M6 to M6 tests...

They have a logic for everything, lol!!

So the PP1 which may or may not be competitive with the base SS vs the 1LE? Lol yeah

SpeedIsLife 11-09-2017 02:21 PM

Maybe they're just wanting to seize on the moment and get a test out while there's still a lot of sizzle?

Or possibly they know something the rest of us don't yet?

We'll find out.

The base GT is basically on par with the old PP in terms of suspension. It's still terribly under-tired like all of the base Mustangs.

Most people seem to think the PP1 is basically the same as the FRPP "track suspension" pack they put out which was a step above the old GT PP.

Knowing M/T they will probably do an A10 PP1 GT VS SS 1LE

If I recall correctly, the only thing that changed on the Ford Performance Track Handling Package from PP that came on the Mustang were the springs.
