Ramps?

I've been searching here and there for a set of ramps from 8"-10" in height for my 18 1LE

My only choice seems to be Race Ramps at $350.00-$400.00?

lol - LMAO

Seriously?

I have a set of 6" Rhino ramps that I purchased at Pep Boys on sale at $39.50.

Does 2"-4" additional in height justify hundreds of dollars?

I've already raised her up off the ground at 10" or better with my Rhino's.

I added two 2"x 6" pieces of wood under the ramps.

I added two 2"x6" pieces of wood in front of the ramps.

Total cost under $15.00.

i would say yes. I did have rhino rams as well and tried to do the stair step thing with wood. the ramps just slid around when my front tires contacted the ramps. ended up scratching my front splitter because of it. later that day I put an order in for race ramps. spend a bit of coin and pull the trigger. You'll use it in the future no problem well worth it, especially when your driving a brand new 1LE....

So...you already found a solution that works for you but came here to complain about $$$?

Race ramps are worth every $.

They weigh virtually nothing, break down into 4 pieces and handle pretty much everything that has been thrown at them.

My rhinos work fine. I screwed on a piece of carpet floor mats cut at the end so that once the wheel hits the carpet , the ramp can't go anywhere and not shoot forward. Used them for three years, they work perfect

Yes,
Basically just a pain in the ass playing around with the wood.
I'm looking for other options to get the height other than Race Ramps.
Is everything ok with you today Hun?

No worries you'll get these types that are deep in debt and just piss money all over the place so they can say "race ramps" instead of doing what you and me do...:headbang:

WTF?

No one said anything about his solution working or not.

There are lots of ways to 'ghetto' ramps, jack points, etc...

I liked my Rhino ramps (except for when they decided to slide when trying to drive on them). I sold them, got Race Ramps and have never looked back. Rhinos don't scrape the SS, but they do the 1LE/ZL1.

Enjoy your homebrew solution...

Make your own ? Designed with narrower tire in mind, but works in a pinch. New version will be wider.

And yes, they are boxed inside.

Good deal brother.
I'll be running similar this coming spring.
Screw that shit.
Close to two hundred dollars more for two extra inches.

Very nice design bro! I'll think about this if I ever need to lift the car like this.

Thanks for sharing!

Came in handy today for an oil change. Little helpers not included.

They look nice, but just don't know that I would bet my life on them.

If constructed properly with plywood, they could support way more than the weight of the car.

Plywood is surprisingly strong.
