thinking about 3.70 gear
Ok am running the 4L80E trans shift point at 6600 rpm was trapping 5200 rpm with 3.27 put in a M6 rear with the 3.45 now trapping at 5400 rpm in 3rd gear. I would think i need to trap at 6000 are a little more. Maybe go with 3.70 to off set the high gear of the 4L80E? What do you track pro's think?

What does it run and what power does it make. And what is your goal?
|
With good temps high 10s @127 but in this heat low 11s @ 122. 585 rwhp right now would like more down the road but will need lots of $$$$. For now want to make the best of the HP that i have.

Put 4.10s in the car if you want to make the most out of your setup and cross around peak power. 3.91s would be a compromise gear. 4L80 1st gear is a turd, you need rear gear to get the car going.
From 3.45/5400rpm 3.70 - 5788 rpm 3.91 - 6118 rpm 4.10s - 6372 rpm I cross ~135mph with 3.91s, and it isn't enough gear (car needs 4.10s) |
With the rpm you have there dose that takes in count with 3rd coming in sooner? am past the 1/8 when 3rd hit as of now.

Go woith the most gearing that will have you at the top of your rpms crossing the traps. That's why I went with 4.57s. |

What size converter do you have mr nasty.

FTI 10.5 T/D 3000 stall

So how does it 60 now?
|
when temps are 80 and lower 1.51 to 1.61. Was at the track this pass saturday temps was 95 60' 1.65 to 1.72 the heat kills the supercharger.
|
Nasty what's your combo? cam, boost and so on? any dyno #'s?
|
whipple with 12lb boost blower cam LT header forge bottom end stock head with studs. 585 rwhp 525 rwq. I feel like am leaving a better et time trapping at 5400 rpm with the 3.45 gears.
|
Where do you want to trap, like 6500 for example? Where does the combo start to die off?
60 is pretty good for the tire/converter + 2.48 first gear in the trans. Just hooks and goes? |
