Updated 2019 Camaro ZL1 spied completely uncovered, showing no changes up front (as the prototypes indicated), but a revised rear bumper, new taillights, and a camera/sensor integrated into the rear spoiler wing.

Thank God they didn't ruin the front of the zl1.

I like that camera location.
I hate to agree on the taillights. I'd like to know why that design. Was it to add depth or something when they were on? They look so out of balance unless they're illuminated. It's very distracting. The proportion is all wrong in my eyes... |
Yea those tail lights are ugly
|
The lights I could live with but I think you guys are missing the bumper. Isn't that totally different? Those bulges or creases on each side where it says zl1?
|
I like the back on the 17 and 18 models better.
However the tail lights and rear bumper changes (although not my favorite) are not nearly the MASSIVE failure as front bumper changes on the SS and lower models. The crease in the rear bumper looks weird and out of place. It sticks out like a sore thumb, and doesn't blend well. I hope it adds something aerodynamically or from cosmetic stand point is not a welcomed changed. But the 2019 is not bad enough visually to prevent me from buying a ZL1 (it i didnt have the 100% perfect version already). The driving experience is worth it, and it looks 90% perfect. |
The front looks great...the back needs work. I think the existing 2016-2018 tail lights look better, they match the cars lines better.

I like the post-refresh tail lamps and the pre-refresh front end of the 6th gen so -- works for me.
The only issue is that the pre-refresh tail/head lamp design was comprised of very simple shapes, and the post-refresh tail/head lamp design is made up of much more complex shapes, so in that sense they do conflict a bit. |
The camera location is ingenious, I presume it's for the new rear vision mirror.
On the other hand, the rear feels like a hack job, the bumper and taillight bulges are an eyesore compared to the pre-refresh rear. The '19 design changes appear to be the outcome of some corporate committee "settlement" with all "inputs" given "appropriate" weight, as opposed to the execution of someone's vision. If those defending this design knew how it came about, they might not sing the same tune... *No, I'm not a disgruntled '18 owner who wants to feel better about his decision or justify it. I could have waited for '19 models and consciously didn't, even in the face of the A8 vs A10 dilemma, which says a lot about how much the new look is unacceptable to me. **This is the last time I comment on the '19 refresh, there is no reason for me to go any further, and don't want to be negative Nancy either. |
I don't like the tail lights, they look out of place. Reminds of the past generation round Corvette tail lights...

You guys are missing the big picture...he's parked next to a fire hydrant.
Write him a ticket...book'em Dan'o! And i agree...those lights and rear end not doing it for me. Glad I have an '18. |
Between the change in Blues and the new tail lights....Thank you Lord for having me get an 18 instead of a 19! :hail:

Looks like many will not be getting a new ZL1 because of the rear lights/bumper now. They kept the headlight the same which makes no sense and totally ruined the look from the rear. Fail... Time to move on to the next vehicle/brand. Good luck Chevy!
