New 2023 ZL1 should I change out parts already?

Hello everyone! I know this is mostly an opinion-based question/dilemma I've put myself in. But, I'm a newbie to the Camaro Owners group and I'm seeking advice. So, if I offend anyone here, I apologize upfront!
So, when I look at the rear end/taillights of my new 2023 ZL1. I personally feel the rounded 2 left and 2 right taillights seem to me more "vette'ish" and not Camaro looking. From my research, in 67'-69' the Camaro had a single left/right taillight assembly. Then during the early 70's (70' - 73'), they sported individual round taillights, 2 left and 2 right. Went back to the single left/right assembly or variants similar until the 2019's came out. Anyway, the Camaro look I like best is more of the single left/right assembly. So, I bought a pair of the Auto Addict USA's "CHEVY CAMARO UMBRA LED TAILLIGHTS GLOSS BLACK/SMOKE LENS", photo attached. Which I feel mostly gives that Camaro look I've always remembered, but these aftermarkets still look modern. I'm just wondering if I'm making a big mistake by replacing my stock taillights with aftermarkets one. Then is just that one mod to my Camaro going to stand out and look like a sore thumb. Since I'm new to all this I'm asking! I don't want to do anything that takes away from the respect of owning this car, and the incredible master piece that it is. I also bought a ColdAir Inductions Elite Carbon Series for mine. Since that's under the hood and not seen every time you look at the car, I'm not so concerned with changing it out. |
I really like those aftermarket taillights. I would say the ones you bought are much more corvette than the stock ones, but I still think they look better.
Never too soon to mod YOUR car. I bet it will look great once added. Congrats on the new car too! |
The new taillights definitely look like a Vette light. I'd install them and see how they look and if you decide later you don't like them, you could always take them off and sell them.
The last taillight update on the 6th gen doesn't look good to me. The 2017 lights look much better. |
Thanks everyone ! Awesome comments! Thanks for the input !!!

I have the Umbra tail lights on my ZL1, its a game changer. Best looking tail lights available for these cars. It is a MAJOR pain in the butt to swap them on the 2019+ model. You will have remove the rear bumper cover which is a not a fun job, those clips that hold the bumper on are STRONG and it will absolutely make you feel like you're going to break them or damage them bumper trying to remove it.

Am I in love with the stock taillights? Nope. Dislike them enough to change them? Nope...
I used to swap out my truck taillights all the time for "cool" led's. I never see them driving and 99% of the other people on the road have no clue what they are. |

The Umbra taillights are C8 copycats, they do look good but are also embarrassing when one's in the know.
I know many disagree as to whether or not the 2017-2018 taillights are better (IMO they definitely are), but it's undeniable that they were in perfect design harmony with the rest of the car, unlike the 2019+ redesign. |

You should be okay with the Cold Air Inductions CAI as long as you use the factory tune and I would keep the stock taillights but it’s your car so do what makes you happy!

I hated the swim goggles.......the drivers side tail light wire wasn't long enough to do a proper "looks factory" look so I had to add about a foot to that side, but it's all wrapped with OEM wrap and looks completely factory. Good luck!

You are certainly entitled to your opinion though of course. |
