IMO, it should have been a regular ZL1, not LE for a drag race.

Went how I expected, now lets get them on a road course!

Kinda makes me believe Ford gave explicit instructions with these press cars not to put the GT 500 on a race course against the Zl1. Reason how I know is Ford has not officially released Nurburgring GT 500 track time numbers nor footage performing their "incredible" feat on hte same track a zl1 1le put down a sub 7:20 time. They know they can't justify a sticker price like that and getting spanked by a main competitor down 100hp!! :smiling1: |
So whats the point of a Redeye again lol? Most power, but heaviest and worst tech plus super expensive and can't even win in a straight line race what it was made for. I guess they do sound good. Id rather have a more balanced all around car, i guess that's why i own a ZL1 haha. I know the GT500 is a beast in a drag race, ready to see the head to head on a road course also.

Turned out as expected, I’m ok if the ZL1 even came in 3rd. $15000-$20000 price difference, a base ZL1 would increase the savings to $20000-$25000. Just goes to show the bang for buck a ZL1 truly is. Would love to see them on a track with turns in stock form. But would also like to see how the ZL1 with $10000 in reliable mods and $10000 in the wallet would do against the same competitors. I compare prices and there is one car in this competition that is far more affordable.

Paging BlaqHole for a lengthy bashing of these fake results and cost analysis. :fear:

I guess the 1320 vs the ZL1 would be a drivers race |
great video. Love the look of the mustang and camaro. Dodge needs to step it up and bring the viper back out.

Go back the last 20 years, there is no Ford "Official" lap time of any performance vehicle at the ring. No Mustang, No Fiesta ST, No Focus ST, No Focus RS, no Ford GT in 04, no new Ford GT, no GT 350, No GT500. It's not like they just decided to sit out recently it's just something they have never done to be honest I am even surprised Ford gave a 0-60 and 1/4 for the GT500 |
