Street Machine Challenge - 2nd Place
 

Well - on a whim I signed up for the Street Machine Challenge at the Street Machine Nationals in St Paul, MN this weekend. its a event with three events, with points paid to the top three in each of the three events. There is a auto-x, Dyno shoot out and a start / stop brake box.

I haven't seen the results from each event, but I think I took first on the dyno and third on the brake box. Netted me 2nd overall, with the winner being the owner of Viking Shock's Optima Series car (ZL1 1LE, full BMR suspension, trick shocks, 335 rivals, etc... etc....) so I think I finished quite fair.

Right on. Nice event, Complete with strippers

A little over 640hp/570tq in 90+deg temps and 90% humidity. We are at a elevation of 950' here - DA was almost 4800' when it was on the dyno.

Nice job! We need to get you some mad Auto X skills so you can win it all next year. :biggrin:

Anecdote - I tried to win a trophy at Friday night drags at 75-80 Dragway in MD for a couple of years but never could. They had a Ford only event with an Auto X as one of the events and I won that. Finally got a trophy from my hometown drag strip - for autocrossing a supercharged Mustang Cobra! :bellyroll:

Was this on your usual E85 Meth setup, or 93 straight?

Is this like the Car Craft Summer Nationals they use to have?

Pump E85, which ends up about E75 on the sensor. A lot of variation pump to pump in MN.

Since I have set the car up, I have not run it on gas other than one instance where I couldn't get E85 so I put in 2 gal of 91. Never went below E60 on the sensor.
