Pittsburg International Race Complex

For the Western PA guys. Anyone planning on going to the "Track Night" on April 20th at Pittsburgh international Race Complex (AKA, Beaver Run)? I'm hoping to have the break in miles by then, so I'm I can go myself. Let everyone know if you're planning on attending.

Is this drag racing or autocross style?

I won't be going on the 20th, but am doing the PDE on May 8.

Doesn't look like the event will be taking place on the 20th. Got word that they are still paving the track. I got an email that now says this is a "tentative " event. Guess it's all the same for me since there is NO WAY I'd have the break in miles on before then anyhow.

There is another track night scheduled for May 11th if anyone would be interested.

I posted this in the Road Race / Autocross subforum also, but figured I'd throw it up on here too to see if anyone would be interested in any of the dates.

Here is the SCCA "Track Night in America" schedule for Pittsburgh International Race Complex just north of Pittsburgh. I'll be attending the June 7th date, can't wait! It's been awhile since I've done any kind of road racing (about 12yrs), been doing the boring straight line stuff since modifying my TA. Hope to see some of you guys out there. I'll have my White 1le.

Just found out about this and would love to take my camaro for a spin on the track!

I always wanted to visit this track. Looked them up online and it seems like you have to take classes to be allowed on the track. Is this true and how do things work there? Sorry for reviving an old thread but I just don't know anyone that has been there. I'm south of Pittsburgh.

There are a bunch of events centered around the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. Camaro is the featured marque this year so you can participate.

I've been to a PDE there on the south track. Not sure about taking classes but I went in Group 1 instructed while I was there. Had an instructor in the car and did 3 20 minute sessions.

I signed up on motorsportreg.com

Depends on who the event coordinator is. Some events are dedicated to instructor led experience (HPDE). Some (TNiA) are more relaxed and no instructors or class time available. Check out the track night in America site (SCCA) and register for an event here. I think the next is on July 27th. Novice is VERY laid back. No pressure fun for sure, and as Track days go it's the least expensive. Here some of the PDR footage I took of a session that I had some clean track. It's definitely a fun track!!

Anybody doing the auto cross this sunday at noon? I just signed up for my first time running at the track!

I'm considering going to Track Night in America in September but I'm not sure yet if I'm ready to beat on my car...I'd likely do the novice though so it's probably not too bad right?

if you've never been on a race track or Pitt Race, Novice is the way to go. I've seen guys go out in Intermediate and are so slow they are a danger to themselves and others.
