SS badge on grille
I'm trying to find a way to put the SS badge on my grille, reason why my car came without one is because I live in Sweden and when asked about it, the dealer told me the SS badge is removed when the cars come to Europe because of its alternative implications, which is a big bummer, I like the SS badge on the grille so I'm looking to put it on myself, but all the badges out there I've seen are just regular badges with adhesive that you put on the rear for example, whereas I've read that the SS badge on the grille is attached with a small block of sorts, correct?
Could anyone point me in the direction of this little block device, or does anyone know of an alternative way to put the badge on? |
If I remember when I replaced mine, the grill has a recessed area it fits into...

I think what you’re looking for is part no.: 84021428 and 92225495.
See no 8 and 9 on this page: https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/auto-p...omponents-scat |

What mrgoodbytes said.
I'm on my 2nd set of these because I happened to drip some Goof Off on the first one when swapping the red SS badges out for the dark gray ones, and that stuff left permanent white stains. |

Same here, car came without the SS emblem on the front grille. Are only items 8 and 9 part of the assembly? I think item #10 is also required for fitting the emblem. Can someone confirm as I am looking to buy one as well?
|
Yes, you need (10) also. It's the backing plate that holds the rest on it on. 8 and 9 are the badge and bracket of course, and they slide onto the grille nice and neat, but there's nothing holding it on. You get your hand up in there and pop the backing plate on and it all holds together.

Is front bumper removal necessary for fitting this? I hope not lol!

No, you do not. ...here's a quick diagram and photo. Mine isn't on the car, but I sorta placed it on the grill so you get the idea. Reach 3 of 4 fingers through the grill and find the back of bottom edge of the main bracket. You'll wanna gently pull it down, kinda like you were trying to roll the emblem on front, up....if that makes sense. When you do, the backer will just drop out, and the whole badge will simply come off the front. Try to have your other hand ready to catch the backplate. I dropped mine down into the grill. Had to retrieve it with one of those little parts grabbers! -I wouldn't do this in the cold either. Wouldn't be hard to snap the bracket.

Great, thanks!

You sure it's for a 6th gen? I know the 5th gen grill emblem uses two posts with nuts. |
