Cops Care About Front Plate?
Fellas-
Moving to Hew Hampshire next Summer. In the Live Free or Die state, do the cops care about folks who don't have there front plates mounted? The absolute last thing I want to do is muck up my beautiful ride with that front plate. Florida doesn't require them, and I really don't have any intention of putting it on when we get up there. Would love to hear your thoughts! |
All depends on the state and the cop. Idaho requires a front plate but I haven't had one on several vehicles for the same reason, hate how it looked. Never been messed with by any city or sheriff officer, but the staters love pulling me over for them. Basically get a fix-it ticket around here, believe it's $40.

Most just use it as a reason to pull you over.
Just don't put yourself in a position where they would want to check you out. |
It depends. I have not had a front plate for 4 months since i got my camaro and for 2 years when i had my silverado the plate was 100% covered by push bar. I have never been pulled over. But i have heard my buddies get pulled over for no plate. It all depends on location in NH and what else youre doing at the time. Smaller towns will have a higher chance of it, and NH state police are great guys but they will get you for anything lol. I had one turn around on me after seeing the front of my car, he didnt end up pulling me over but I know he was thinking about it lol.

It's so so up here. I've been pulled over once for not having it by a Bristol, NH officer who was only sicked on me by an angry old overheated park detail cop. At no point was the guy who pulled me over ever in front of me or on the side of the road from me given it wasn't in an area he could have been. He let me put it on and be on my way no ticket because I asked politely and jokingly when he saw me, could have went the other way but being friendly sometimes helps. Honest advice get a plate holder and even if it's not on keep the plate in the car and act stupid like crap it just got detailed and I forgot to put it back on 9 out of 10 times they will give you a warning unless it's the 1 time the guy is in a bad mood and is looking for an outlet.

Thanks guys!
Like I said, I'm not putting it on, but that's good advice to at least have it in the car and play the "oops, I forgot" card. Look forward to joining you guys up there! |

in NH the highway tolls take a picture of your front license plate...
the State troopers are getting more strict about not having a front plate in NH. I run without one, as I very infrequently drive my car on the street. |

I've been driving without one for almost a year now. But then again I only drive it when is sunny and 6 months of the year. I have a Show and Stow plate bracket. I don't drive like a dick so that just reduces my chance of giving them multiple reasons to pull me over. I keep the plate in the car and plan on say exactly what Evil Bee states: Just detailed her forgot to put it back on...
