Supercharging a Gen6 Convertible

I just got off the phone with Edlebrock Tech support to see if the Eforce will fit under my hood. Turns out it will not due to the strut tower brace. I really wanted that supercharger because it looks awesome under the hood. So now I'm looking for a front mounted supercharger. I don't want to stress the motor so looking for around 600hp. Will having a convertible cause any fitment issues with those? Which is most reliable and doesn't require any extra maintenance?

I would think a procharger would fit. They make them for cars with strut tower brace.

I don't know about convertible fitment issues, but I would imagine the LT4 supercharger would fit for you, they are extremely compact.

also consider the low side fuel pump will be different (than a hardtop).

I would love the LT4 supercharger. Just need confirmation on Convertible fitment due to strut tower brace.

I just went on TPS Motorsports and they actually have a picture of the LT4 with STB. Probably going to be my choice. Waiting for a call back from them. Thank You

Absolutely, worst case scenario that the STB does not clear any top mount blower available, you still have the procharger option. Good luck.

Plus the Procharger costs less. May have to play it safe and go with that.

So a SS conv needs a brace and a ZL1 convertible doesn't? I'm not aware that the zl1 has anymore bracing underneath than the SS if it does bolt or make that mod and run the edelbrock. There's one for sale for 5100 in my area by jett. I'll vouch for him his has less than 3000 miles. probaby get it for 4800.

I know for a fact that the edelbrock 2300 fits under the hood with a brace. not sure the convertible changes anything.

there's one in for sale on this forum its a 2300 LT and makes good power wife has it making 616rwhp and 666 TQ with just my LT4 fueling and aux pump. I think its 4000 then send to kong for porting and you will have very good power with very good IATs that fits under a brace.

GM brace painted pictured!

Thank You for posting this. The hood on the vert is the same so the Eforce should fit the Vert with OEM brace as well. May have to raise the brace with spacers but no big deal there.

Your welcome!

The 2300LT is listed for a Corvette. Same engine but will accessories fit?

Just called Edelbrock again and asked about the 2300LT. Only Eforce for Camaro 2017 is the 2650.

It fits but the pulleys do not line up I think the pulleys run closer to the motor on a vetter. You have to buy a snout which makes it not practical. The link I shared is camaro

I sent him a PM. Waiting to see if he still has it.

Sounds good

Ajs16400 06-24-2022 09:34 PM

Another option would be an early lt4 supercharger with the lower profile lid and lt4 install kit. That will fit under the brace as well.

Bad ass deal but won't fit under brace. 2300 will fit and get it ported for similar performance.

I took the STB off this morning. I will drive awhile to decide if the handling has been affected so I can decide on the 2650. Do the coupes have the black supports going from the strut tower to the firewall? If so do you have to remove them for the 2650 E-forcre or Magnuson TVS2650 kits? I plan to upgrade the fuel system upper and lower pumps. Anything else I should do to play it safe?.

I answered this in other thread you posted it in. :happy0180:

Thanks I deleted that post. I will take this to my installer/tuner. I don't plan to go beyond the Edlebrock E-Force kit setup so the tune will be included in that kit. Just looking for around 600 hp. I know from reading I should upgrade the fuel system to avoid any engine issues. I only drive a few thousand miles a year but when I do it can be spirited.

Regarding the STB after removing I see it is just a hollow piece of aluminumn about 1 1/2" thick. If necessary a flat piece of steel type STB should be as good or better.

I should also add I have an A8.

I’d bet a bunch of money that the handling will be the same without the STB. Just my 2 cents.

The coupes do have the black corner supports and you can keep those.

LT4 in tank, HPFP, and injectors are the really the bare minimum fuel system to start playing with forced induction. You need to replace the HPFP hard fuel lines too when making those changes. And get yourself a wideband installed too. AEM makes ones that communicates over the cars canbus so you can datalog AFR at the same time as everything else.
