Officially the End - 2024 Camaro Collectors Edition
Its been a good run, its a shame it has to end.
Looks like the Collector Edition may be a silver or gray?
Well I guess it's offical. Wonder what the price tag is going to be. I'd like to consider it, but man... I bet the price tag is going to be pretty high, especially on the limited number of ZL1's. I'll more than likely just hang onto the paid for Camaro I have. lol (I will check into it though)
If its just paint and badges, thats a sad finish.
the final nail in the coffin, yet no info is out, now, but lets see, rest asured camaro is going on one final ride
From the Press Release attached to the original post:
Chevrolet will celebrate this storied nameplate with the addition of the Collector’s Edition package on the 2024 Camaro RS and SS, and on a limited number of ZL1 equipped vehicles available in North America. The Collector’s Edition pays homage to Camaro, resurfacing ties that date back to the development of the first generation Camaro in the 1960s, most notably the program’s initial code name: Panther. |

"The final sixth generation Camaros will come off the assembly line at the Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant in Michigan in January 2024."
Less than 12 months of production remaining... |
I'm going to be "that guy" and say...
...it never actually says that Camaro name is dead. Just says the end to the 6th gen Camaro. Now, do I believe we'll get another 7th gen Camaro with an ICE engine? No I don't. Do I think we could get an electric Camaro at some point? Sure, I think that's possible, but I'm also not really interested in it either. |
Well, I guess GM had to do something after the Dodge Demon 170 came out. We knew we was going to get a collectors edition but we all want to know what kind of motor they going to put into it. It was good while it lasted! I cant wait to see what it looks like. Maybe well get a 7th Gen in the future, maybe not
Didn’t really show what is in the package, so we wait. It would be nice if they built up a large supply of parts to meet every order request.
I guess I will have the 2nd to Last one more ride Camaro.
Hard to find many new Camaros (or even nice used) right now. I wonder how the supply will be over the coming months and into 2024. So far, it's keeping the market value of my 2016 SS high.

If we see a 7th gen, you can bet its dropping ICE in favor of pure EV. The Camaro as we know it has had its fate sealed for a while now. |
Glad I got my car when I did. I will be keeping this car for a very long time it is a perfect car.

The press release limited to 2000 ZL1s, do they even make that many in a year?
So it appears to be a badge and thats it?
Will they offer 1LE packages on SS and Z? Given the current constraints and eight months till bingo..stay tuned!
“While we are not announcing an immediate successor today, rest assured, this is not the end of Camaro’s story.”
we know they will make it an EV now. Hold onto your cars, the prices about to go up!! |

Maybe they are looking to make a more Camaros than they normally would for supply for the 2024 model year since its the last year? |
“While we are not announcing an immediate successor today, rest assured, the Camaro will be replaced at some point in the future.”
If Camaro would've successor, Camaro could follow Mustang route, just become as a crossover model. It's Sad, but it could likely happen.
Dodge rolls out a over 1000 hp demon and we get stickers
Glad i took my delivery this week.
With production constrains and low inventory, it might be hard to find a SS 1LE or ZL1 without a ADM. |

Chevy cares about profits and regulations, which means trucks and EVs. The Camaro had its fate sealed for a long time now, GM never fought to keep it alive. |
When can orders be placed?
I'll think about a 2024 ZL1 if they revert to the original rear bumper and taillights :D

I was just done at my local Chevy dealer talking to the guy who does the ordering. He said I know as much as he does at this point. He did say that they are coming out with a "new" blue. (I should have wrote down the name of the color) Riverside and Rabid blue are out and the new blue is close to HyperBlue, he said it's the same blue that is on the C8. He said he does not know things like if they are doing limited runs, if they are allowing dealers to order as many as they get orders for... etc.
He's got my name and contact info and will be reaching out once he gets details. I'll consider it, but I'll have a hard time going to the 2020 and up front ends. If they have the same blue on the C8's that would be close enough for me to my HyperBlue. I'll just have to see cost details. It would be really hard to give up a paid for SS (and I JUST got my new 1LE Replica wheels) for another SS that has possibly no performace enhancements to it. I'd have to serioulsy consider that. I don't think I'd go to a ZL1 because I just don't need that much power for my spirited driving. |
I have this 23 and it's value its probably going to hold a little bit better now.
Stickers to end one of the most iconic badges in American automotive history. GM’s handling of the 6th gen is criminally bad.

I wonder how far they'll "stretch" the nameplate with EVs. I wonder if gm is waiting for them all to be ready to launch at once, or if it's something else. Coupe, likely. Sedan, maybe? CUV, probably. My question is how does one differentiate EV Camaro CUV vs an EV Blazer. EV Camaro CUV might be RWD only I guess. But if Blazer is available with AWD as a full EV it's performance numbers may get uncomfortably close to an Camaro CUVs. It'll be a tough line to walk, but maybe that's why its not launching sooner. Aligning the products just right will be a big thing, especially since so many components will likely be shared and it'll essentially be different "top hats" that separate one model from another. |
