I'm glad mine was built by a robot. Because computers don't make mistakes...mistakes...mistakes...mistakes...mistak es...mistakes...mistakes...mistakes...mistakes...m istakes...mistakes:smiling1:

Usually the LT4's normally found in the ZL1's are built at the Tonnawanda plant in NY...

....by the way... they are also partially made by hand...but by several different people along an assembly line

Don't worry... either way, all assemblys have strict guidelines to follow and have several check points along the way

Hand built is cool and so is the new computer controlled robots GM uses. This is a cool video from the tonowanda plant if you haven't seen it yet:

I had a chance to take my 2020 with the engine builder plaque out from under the cover this past weekend and production date was 9/19.

Who built your LT4?

20Madman 02-24-2020 02:56 PM

I was so excited to get the chance to take for a ride I forgot to look.
I will check tonight, if I remember first name was either Adam or Alex.

20Madman 02-24-2020 07:59 PM

Checked tonight I was wrong with name. Mine was built by Andrew Kline, says Performance Build Center Bowling Green, KY.
I’m not sure how to post pictures, will be happy to post if I figure out how.

Mine has one. It was built in October. The week after the strike ended.

Man I bet your itching to get out for a ride. I am.

Drews 02-25-2020 08:33 PM

Hi there Tayley1LE ,... would you mind sharing the last 5 digits of your VIN for us.

I'm taking note of all the VIN's i can find, first to see if there are any pattern's in the build cycles, and to try to establish some kind of rough percentage of how many are out there.

And also... simply for pure amusement.

Congrats on owning a Hand-built plaqued LT4 buddy!

Andrew

What’s the last 5 numbers of your VIN?
Forget it I saw you already gave your vin number in an earlier post.

Good idea Andrew compiling a list of the LT4s built with the assembly plaques!
