I'd like to see the Hotwheels Camaro Blue (think its Kinetic Blue) on all the Camaros.

But the fact is GM's people in management "think" people want so called "safe" colors.:noidea: This is from a top GM exec. (Ed Welburn). The video is on youtube when he was being interviewed and asked why GM keeps picking the silverish/greyish subdued colors (boring depressing colors). Ed said they feel that people dont want colors that stand out they want "safe" colors. Sorry Ed, but as a paying customer i DO NOT want "safe" colors. I want a great looking color that stands out and looks GOOD. :headbang: |
They definitely need a better blue color. One of the things that shoots me down for trading in for a new one.

My comments about Indy 500 parade cars being Hot Wheels models:
here we go with Chevrolet promoting an UGLY unsaleable medium BLUE color (like ABM) to the American public, why show a color that will not sell or should not be produced? We need a petition to have Chevrolet repaint these cars to avoid the embarrassment. Now get rid of the UGLY Laguna Blue on the 2014 Corvette (but wait until I get one to go with my ABM Camaro). |
Another Lighter Blue would be great. I couldn't get the ABM so I have what I have.
|
If no medium blue shows up for our Camaros, then I might have to look at the Cuda Convertible in 2016 as my next car. Especially if the Cuda is smaller & lighter than the current Challenger. Dodge has had pretty good color selections for the Challengers...I'd take Plum Crazy instead of a medium blue

Bring it back

I finally put off getting a 2013 so I can do a refi on the house and get a few things done around the house (painting, etc). My goal is to see if a decent blue is offered for the 2014 or 2015. If not then I may end up moving on to a competitor. I understand about GM not wanting to do "unpopular" colours. Hyundai has certain colours only at certain trims and I passed on Genesis Coupe because I could not get both the blue I wanted and the accessories I wanted.
Hopefully something will be offered and I will be able to still order it in either December or January. |
If I said it once...I've said it a million times.
Love my ABM....love that its a rare color....glad its MINE!!! I don't think its coming back, and I don't think it should. But why GM won't make Kinetic Blue a regular color is just beyond me. Its freaking gorgeous. That said, if they do make it I'll probably sad that there is more beautiful blue out there and not just my car. lol |

The color %'s are skewed due to availability.

If you look at DuPont popularity charts on their web site, light blue, much like jet stream blue is number two or three in Europe and Asia, behind silver and white, in North America it is near last. I agree ABM could and should have been lighter like jet stream blue, but we did not have any other choice, just happy that Chevy bent to pressure and allowed ABM on the SS, as it was to be V6 only.

Autoweek has an article about the Indy pace car as a Laguna Blue Corvette, seen testing in Michigan test track, goes with the hotwheels Camaro Blue.
Mulssane Blue was lighter than Jetstream Blue, My 1970 Camaro was Mulsane Blue. |

I considered Aqua blue. But the color sample they showed did not do the color justice, and the fact that GM did not offer any accessories in this color (splash guards, and painted engine cover), really just pushed me to red jewel. I still love every Aqua Blue I see.
|
I say no, I love mine and its one of a few! Leave it this way!

I just felt that GM wanted to get rid of that color as they didn't bother to offer any accessories in Aqua blue. You also couldn't get synergy green splash guards/quarter flares either. |
Maybe this is a really dumb question, but how much does it cost a manufacturer to offer a few more colors? I've noticed the number of models that may offer no more than 5 or 6 color choices. These always include black, white, silver, grey and usually 1 or 2 other dull hues. At least in higher profile models like our Camaros, they offer a few more. I'm not knocking the more conservative colors....my garage includes silver, black and white, but it would be nice to have more options, like the Aqua Blue.

Why was this thread moved to Camaro6 over 2 years later? We already got Hyper Blue.
