An AirTag still has to be removed and charged periodically, right? That was another drawback for me.

I finaly got it working. I used the following:
1. Rechargeable GPS Tracker (no case needed) Brand I chose is Optimus 3.0 at $19.95 a month. 2. 12V Charging Socket with inline fuse 3. 12V Charger USB adapter WITH voltage indicator 4. Blue color "T" /blade & splice connector 5. Needle Nose pliers for compressing splice connector 6. 10mm socket with 6" extension for fuse box nut to ground wire install 7. Large pliers for compressing blade connector to red wire on 12V socket 8. Deluxe Wire strippers to strip red wire on 12V socket |

Just have mine to the battery for now, but am moving when i install subs and amp etc. Probably come off my battery with sub wire and shrink wrap it to sorta hide it. But they will think its for amp power on... I ran wires to side of trunk and put it on the rear speaker deck over the sheetmetal but benieth the trim panel.. great reception.

I have the Gen5 DIY radar detector line, and I bought it with pigtails for a dash cam, so I just made another Y off that line, and ran that down to a GPS that's well hidden.
Also went with the Optimus, and I think it's $10 / mo. Works very well. Finally got my Igla installed this week so that's a HUGE sigh of relief. They want my car, gonna have to tow it. |
