Got me too....damn. My dealer is HORRENDOUS.

Tushar 04-08-2016 12:14 PM

My VIN is tagged. I called the dealership and they said that the TSB showed up today morning and that they dont have any information on it.
Suggested that I check back next week...

Bummer!

My exact thoughts! :bonk:

I will be driving it gingerly now...

Car is still under warranty, so if it fails and the engine seizes then you'll get a new engine.

SSport16 04-08-2016 12:44 PM

Ah crap....hate going to the dealer!

Just tell them you were at the track.

Mine is tagged - I was taking it in anyway for the NPP issue. Guess Ill have them address this as well.

FREE OIL CHANGE :)

If you follow the repair procedure to the letter you will cringe at letting the dealer do this.

Logan45 04-08-2016 02:06 PM

Just got the call myself... hate going to the dealer

Atra 04-08-2016 02:47 PM

Tsloper is it any raised numbering or a specific number? The doc not clear on that in case I missed it.

TSloper 04-08-2016 02:57 PM

I pulled that PDF this morning from the TDS site. My oil pan has no raised lettering in the designated spot. My VIN falls under the recall but my oil pan passes the preliminary document test of raised lettering. My car was built in December so my guess is that GM is not able to tell which cars have the issue and which don't until they check the oil pan for the raised numbers.

I'm only speculating btw based on the preliminary doc I found. If I find mine is at risk I will fix it myself. There is no way in hell in letting a GM tech tear it apart per the oil pan removal procedure.

I don't see mine on the chevy mylink or onstar. Mine was built in March though, so I hope I am good! Never mind, this came out before my car was even built.

I broke of all my ties with the dealer.. going to find a new dealer take care of it.. I was planning to go in for my first oil change.. glad I can preserve my other 2 free oil changes....
