Somebody at the official Chevrolet website messed up yesterday by putting pics of the convertible up (they're down now). I've been lurking here and camaro5 for a long time and I'm surprised no one else saw that too.

Damn. I'm not a convertible guy but that looks awesome. I'd say they got the roof line right.

Too often you see a soft top that looks like an afterthought. For example, the current 370z...

I'd buy that if I didn't get sunburn within 10 minutes of being outside. Haha!

Are those the ones that were removed from the chevy website?

Looks like the piece that's covering the top is completely solid. That would indicate an automatic tonneau cover. And you can see the part that would raise up to allow the top to go down into the well, but these pictures don't show any seams for the trunk.

The 2015 Mustang has 2 small cover pieces - one for each side. They basically cover the arms of the top mechanism. the fabric top is not covered by anything though.

If the 2016 Camaro DOES have an automatic hard cover, it will definitely overtake the mustang vert in sales.

@classicrockr
I don't know. Found them at the German www.camaro2010.de site.

The top pic if you zoom in you can see the trunk lines...
And for those that poo pooed me in another thread when I suggested it would have a automatic hard tonneau.... Well if these are true pics then I got my wish.

Now to win the lottery so I can get one and keep the one I have now....

Now the question is....

Will the top rest on the outside of the car, eliminating the need for a water bag system?

And looking at that first pic again, it seems wierd. The area where our current tonneau cover goes is covered by what seems to be a hard cover. Then, right behind it, looks like the panel that will raise up automatically to allow the top to go into the well.

If that's the case, why the need for the "hard cover" that's in place where our soft tonneau goes currently?

somebody please get some more spy shots & clear up this insanity!....2 more days...aaaarrrgghhh!!!

It looks exactly like the system the Stingray has. The black outline is where the top will be when its in the up position. The whole piece behind the rear seat back to the trunk lid opens up for the top. Look at the video I posted of the Stingray's top in action and you will see how it will work.

I wonder how many people will make a new thread here based on the Autoblog article that cites Camaro6 as their source
