she's just rolled 1000 miles yesterday.Hmmmmmmm, how did that happen?Eh,somebody's got to do it! I can't seem to get people to stop staring at me.Must be the new haircut or something.I can't imagine having to put this car away.Ehh, there will be quite a few crisp and clear winter days for a nice ride.
I would imagine you have had some time to put her through the paces by now. Sweet isn't it. Just turned 1000 miles tody as we have been taking some weekend cruises throughout the state before winter sets in. Plan on storing her for the winter...sucks but thats life in the north woods.
I am still gonna vary speed as much as I can and do some moderate rolling accelerations up to 4500 - 5000 rpm to help seat rings if they aren't already. There was a guy in the 8/17 tpw forum that had his car for 5 minutes and got a ticket for 100mph in a 60 zone...it is truly hard to stay off the gas on these things and 100mph comes pretty quick...even in the v6. I can imagine the v8 will be much worse to stay off the pedal. You are gonna love your ride when it comes!!!!
Hello there. I just noticed that I had a notification from you. Our cars are in Louisville huh? I didn't know that. I'm not sure how to check the status from this point on. I'll call my dealer and see if he has any info. I'm in Ft. Myers. Used to go to Winter Haven alot for softball tournaments and to watch the Indians during spring training. If you hear anything on our cars let me know, if you would and I'll do the same. Thanks, Jim.
Do you have a facility w/ a chassis dyno? That's the quickest and easiest way. The loading of the engine without just going crazy with the rpms is the best way.I worked for John Deere several years ago, and one of my jobs was to "dyno break- in" new tractors with the pto attached to the dyno.It was very cool to watch a 85 (pto hp) tractor go from 35hp to 85 hp(@ the pto) in a matter of 10 minutes. That's how fast a dyno can seat internal parts. Now ,there's some more breaking in to do, but that sure helps.I'm lucky enough to live a 1/2 hr away from a shop with not only a engine dyno, but a chassis dyno as well...u can bet your ^%$#!@#$^ that's one of the first places Gi Gi is going to bless with her beauty. The guy only charges $50 for 3 pulls!I'll send you the readouts.A guy i know took his 2ss L99 auto, the torque band was ungodly! At 2000 rpm's, the needle shot straight up, and stayed there till it "oh so gently" started to taper off at around 5500.I was highly impressed.
