I will be going for my first oil change in the new V8 SS Camaro. I'm toying with using synthetic oil instead of regular. Does either affect performance better than another? Any preference?

First off the manufacture calls for synthentic oil not regular oil. Mobil one is the most used and you only need to change it every 10000 to 15000 miles not every 3000 miles.

It is true synthetic oil needs to be changed less. You can never go wrong changing you oil earlier than 10000. You should also monitor the "look" of the oil on your dip stick. If it looks a little dark and you are over 4000 miles CHANGE IT!
