so I'm on the fence between getting shorty or longtubes. How practical would it be to get longtubes, hold on to the stock manifolds and cats, and put them back in when time for an inspection?

If i were you i'd go Long Tube for the power gains . You don't have to worry about your warranty now so go for it !

haha, true. I was researching NC emission testing rules. They plug into the computer to test and don't sniff. I can get a tune to fix that just fine. Looks like I may go long tube.

I would go long tubes like marvin said for the power gains. If you get with high flow cats the inspector might not know your missing 2 of the cats as long as he sees cat on the car.

I'm with Eddie.. I think as long as a inspector looks and he does see a set of cats he won't think its nothing but a stock setup car with headers. Main thing is to have no cels !

Long tubes FTW!!! shorties you would have to cut and weld the old cats on( im sure you wouldnt) but to create less hassle for you in the legal department go with LTs and High flow cats!! your already a target driving yer Hootermobile around lol.. lets not give them any more reason to dock you..

Steve... the V8 shorty headers bolt right to the factory cats . No cutting or welding needed. Only the V6 shorty headers need to ne cut and welded.

I think I'm going to go with Kooks LTs and high flow cats

Those are some good headers. Who are you getting them from? I heard maryland speed has some really good prices if you call them.
