WHY NO FUEL DOOR LOCK

Anyone know if there's an aftermarket fuel door lock for the 6th gem camaro? any jealous person could add shit to the tank.

correct me if im wrong, but with the capless filler, unless the vandal has a funnel with the correct tip shape, you are safe.

Good question. The Lincoln Ive been in (rental) has capless and a locking gas door.

I think it comes down to penny pinching on Chevys part honestly. Same as with the glovebox. They could have put a locking mechanism on the glovebox that locks when the doors are locked or made it an electric release (like the lincoln) that only works when the ignition or acc is on. Now that we have gone keyless, its harder to get the key out of the fob to lock and unlock the glovebox.

Not a big deal in the coupe but I so wish my verts glovebox was easier to keep locked when the top is down.

Safe from what? Having someone pour water in your tank?

It should be possible with OEM parts, like Soleil said, the EU version has a locking gas door which locks/unlocks with the doors. Only minor inconvenience is with the auto door locking you can't close the gas door until you press the unlock button on door/key fob.
Someone on here showed pictures of the gas door which has a boss with a hole, but no locking mechanism on the car (US version)

European 6 gen have one.
I don't don't why the outside cover got the system to lock,
And there is no inside locker working with the remote locking doors

Mine looks the same as that but does not lock. You can open and close it with the car locked/unlocked/no key fob on you etc.

it makes absolutely no sense that European models get it but American ones don't.

Gas siphoning has been a real problem in EU for decades. They pay quite a bit more than we do. I agree it was $20 I would have accepted in the car's cost though.
