1:33.70 in 2013 ZR1.

As much as I love my SS 1LE and the new ZL1 1LE, I'm still most impressed by the 2012 / 13 Z06 with Z07. Older version F55 Mag Ride, not much aero, way down on power, less overall tire footprint, regular diff, no rev match, etc. Shows you what light weight, small frontal area, etc. does.

At 11:03 into the video, I noticed he does have Rev Match on and the steering locked in TOUR!

I like my ZL1 but I wouldn’t hesitate to add a C6 ZR1 to my garage. The C5 and C6 were aerodynamic engineering pinnacles. Real no frills racers. It’s obvious GM built the C7 to satisfy the masses (and come on it’s a gorgeous design) with its much more premium interior and extra weight. And more power to them if it’s gonna keep GM alive and well and producing amazing cars like the ZL1. But that beautiful wedge shape of the C6....

Great showing for the ZL1 1LE! World class performance.

On the C6 front, I bought my '10 ZR1 new over 6 years ago and it still brings a smile to my face every time I drive it.

ZR1 best time at the ring I saw was a 7:19.63 the ZL1 1LE did it in 7:16.07 interesting the different tracks can highlight the strengths of a car

The ring also offers MUCH more range for driver bravery. Two different expert drivers will likey see a large delta at the ring....while Laguna Seca is so short, and far less dangerous in comparison.

I added the 2013 ZR1 to the original post. I only list the cars they mentioned in the video but this adds good perspective given it also was a Randy Pobst lap

What is a good time for a first timer? I hope to give it a shot one day.

The time difference of the base ZL1 during the first test and the GT350R H2H was 1.7 seconds. That's huge given same driver, same track, different day.

It's gratifying to see the Camaro amongst the worlds best. Al O, team Camaro and GM deserve high praise.

Oh no doubt! I was just trying to provide some context that rings times inevitably have much more variation in them, even with the same driver. It's SUCH a long lap, with so many demanding sectors that even world class drivers can vary drastically. I think the 1LE times at Seca, and Willow Springs with Randy Driving are a better playing field for comparison. Easier to be fast/consistent over a sub 2 minute lap where small errors don't likely equate to death.
