AL Oppenheiser confirms SS M6 DOES have the no lift shift feature

The Gen6 SS M6 DOES have the no lift shift feature. I've read so many threads that said that they have it, but I've never read anything by GM that confirmed it. Saturday at Fest Al confirmed that they do. I'll take that as writing.

I was happy to hear that. After my 1500 mi. fluid changes (engine, trans, diff), I'm going to test it out!

You at Fest? I've yet to try it out, after my GMPP CAI tune, I will.

I was there on Friday and Saturday. I asked Al this during the Q&A after his tech talk. They made it sound like it was obvious that it was on there, but I wanted to get confirmation before trying it on my car!

I know some others posted info about it being on the car and MT & Car and Driver mentioned it was as well, but just wanted to hear it straight from GM!

I think someone asked that, and I think Al said "do not take your foot off the floor".

I don't know if it's available outside of Competitive Driving Mode, but I do know for a fact it works pretty awesome in that mode.
I had it on my 16 C7 M7 and it's pretty billy-badass, but to be 100% honest, it sounds better when the Gen 6 does it. More of a "brapp!" from the exhaust.

It works in Sport mode just as it does in any other mode. I have tried it out in Tour, I drive in Sport all the time and it does it there as well.

You don't have to be in Competition mode in order for NLS to work. With the vehicle warmed up and ready to go just keep the throttle pinned and then push in the clutch and complete the shift. You will hear the change in the exhaust note when you do it.

Why do you think they'd remain mum on this for 2 years after the 6th gen's introduction? Usually, you want to market every feature available on a car. They seemed all too proud to mention rev matching from the start.

Are they worried that no lift shift detracts from the manual driver's bragging rights? Seems like this is to manual gearboxes as tiptronic is to auto gearboxes. It's slightly blurring the line. Yes, you have the third pedal, but it seems like the computer is increasingly there to help you.

My guess, warranty. No doubt it puts more stress on the drivetrain and they don't want to advertise anything to cost them money.
