First Whipple LT4 Start up - bolt on 700whp!
We've been working with Whipple on some little things this week as we installed the first unit on a CTS V gen 3 which shares the same engine as the beloved ZL1. I have to say this thing looks right at home in the engine bay of the LT4! It really fills up the space between the heads.
We're still in the testing process, but the very fist pull with this wagon wheel pulley on it laid down over 600whp at 10psi without any timing in it at all. We have 3 smaller pulleys to try and although the blower design is a little different, we made 750whp on our Mustang dyno at 14psi on a 17 Escalade with our ported LT4 heads and supporting mods. |

That whine is what I need. The stock one just isn't giving the tingles lol.

I'd be curious on the effects it would have on the cooling systems. Chevrolet put a lot of R&D into keeping everything cool....

Agreed. The LT4's whine sucks big donkey balls. Can barely hear the damn thing, even with an intake.

This blower is all you'd need to walk a stock Hellcat! Do a cat delete and pulley down and you're walking a pullied Hellcat! I can't wait till my A10 gets here... I have one waiting for it LOL |

Good point. I'm guessing the front coolers are still working to keep this thing cool as well. Hope we get some before / after IAT2 numbers if possible.

You 1/4 mile guys are nuts. I love watching you push the limits of HP. Who else buys a Gen 6 ZL1 and says "It's pretty good but underpowered LOL"

Very Nice... ZL1 has one more that sits horizontal under the front.
Awesome setup and 400% recovery is unreal... |

[QUOTE=WEAPON-X;9590537]We've been working with Whipple on some little things this week as we installed the first unit on a CTS V gen 3 which shares the same engine as the beloved ZL1. So bolting on the Whipple with 10lbs of boost pulley was 600rwhp ? The stock SC @ 10lbs puts approx 560rwhp so only netting 40-50 hp with the Whipple @ 10lbs ? Interesting BTW nice heat exchangers I think I may need a set in the future for my CTSV |
