for those wanting to add leather to a 1SS

So I had mentioned that I leased a 1SS and had leather added to it. Some wanted to know of the style and quality to see how it compared to the factory. I had mentioned how I only really cared about having the leather manual and npp exhaust. couldn't justify the extra $100 a month since I barely used the extra features in my 2lz impala. I do miss the bose and the blind spot monitoring would have come in handy. anyways. I'm very happy of the quality. Really only missing the door cards and the SS badging but since I'm only leasing I'm more than happy with the outcome. It still needs a few days in the hot florida sun to tighten up. only cost me $599 and I added it into my payment. It is the katskin kit and you can get it in any factory color or custom.

Looks good man. I have the 1SS also, so I might be upgrading to leather down the line. Nice car btw...I see you got the black bowtie option also.

Needs some steam and a heat gun.

Doesn't look too bad for an aftermarket kit.
But if you like the leather it is alot cheaper than paying the extra 1000's for a 2SS.

Yeah needs a few days in the sun of I might grab the heat gun from work. Just got done yesterday. It's actually improved over 24 hours.

I nearly bought a 1SS and the dealer said they could install factory leather (adrenaline red) for $1300.

That's probably what they were selling it for to make profit. I paid dealer cost which is $599. That's even cheaper than the dealership I work at that uses the same katzkin and our cost is $799.

It's so weird that the dealer is using Katzkin though... I know the company that makes all the factory stuff, has files back to early 4th gens (that I've seen, possibly earlier).

I can understand him not selling them if not in a car, not sure why the dealer isn't selling OEM stuff though. Concerns for value/originality????

I know here in Florida with my dealership and the one I worked for back home in Massachusetts a lot of dealers will outsource to a company most of them using katzkin. May be a cost thing I'm not sure. I'm happy with it. It may not be as nice a factory but it does the trick and I've been getting nothing but compliments.

Yes I do. I use a company through my work called better leather. Gentlemans name is Tom. Or the company I did mine with through the dealership I purchased the car is called classic soft trim. They are right off of I 4 near the hard rock casino. You can go on katzkin.com and pick out the pattern you want if you are trying to keep it looking like stock. They have everything from the black, red, gray and kalahari
