The alky control is 100% meth. I am running premium pump for fuel. E85 would be a better option. But it is a street car and their is only one gas station in town that sells e85 at the pump. I mix my own ethanol fuel for my turbo street bikes. I don't want the hassle of only being able to get gas at one gas station. Having to find e85 fuel stations if driving out of town. I don't have enough fuel pump and would have to completely re do the fuel system to run on e85, flex fuel sensor, tune it, etc. Right now as the car sits it was tuned to run on 100% meth injection and premium pump. If it was a race only car I would spend the extra to redo the fuel system for ethanol and mix my own fuel. I would also have a auto tranny in it, cage, and 15s's in back. But it is just my play around street car. I prefer motorcycles for drag racing.
I have ran strait methanol injection for over 10 years on various turbo street bikes and never had a problem. I don't have to run 100% meth in the car. what is the highest ratio of meth you can run and be safe from fire then? |

You say only one pump, and hassle of finding e85, then mention flex fuel with completely eliminates those concerns.
I get the cost of adding enough pump/injector, but a $90 sensor that lets you have the best of both worlds, and eliminates any concern over where you fill up is pretty much a no brainer.

my fuel pumps are almost maxed out right now on premium/meth. So if I went to a flex fuel setup I would have to turn the power down about 30% when running ethanol. I don't want to do that.
If I did put the bigger pump/pumps, fuel lines, etc.. to run ethanol I would have a flex fuel sensor on it. |

3 words Window washer fluid
Window Washer Fluid: 70% water/30% Methanol - Keep your E85. My IAT's have dropped 75 degrees and I'm getting race fuel on pump gas. I just paid $1.85 for a gallon window washer fluid.

After running both, e85 is FAR FAR FAR superior. No reason not to run both. So don't knock it until you try it.

hmph, I've been making 1109whp on 93 and meth for 3 years now with no issue. I do like the idea of e85, but to say none of our cars are to the level to run meth seems a little silly. (I hope you know they are saying 100% meth injection and not meth as the primary fuel)

I know we are talking about meth injection. 100% meth is just plain dangerous. E85 is 100x better. If I had e85 here I would run it on my V, but no E85 so I have to run full VP.

Ok, I gotcha. Yea, ideally I would like to run E85 but it's not an option. I went alky control because of the SS lines after having issues with crappy snow with boost juice.

e98 should be available just about every where. Whoever sells you vp should be able to sell you e98 also. Just add a little premium pump to make it e85. vp also sells their version of e85. c85 I believe they call it.
I know guys who claim to buy e98 for as cheap as $200 for a 55. I just run it on the turbo busa so I do not go through enough to want to buy 55's at a time. The local pump was consistently e85 for a couple years. last year it sucked. e70 to e75 most of the year. I buy e98 from a local guy to mix with the pump to bring the pump up to e85. I mix fuel in 5's to fill up the bike with. I used to run c16 in my turbo bikes. I now run ethanol and think it is better, easier to get, and much cheaper. Here in town in Boise Idaho their is only the one pump. I also race at woodburn Oregon and Sacramento California. Both have a lot of e85 gas stations local to them and both tracks have a e85 pump that is open 24/7 within 2-3 miles from the track. They have tested 85% every time I have purchased from them. |
