ZL1 1LE MAXIMUM ADVERTIZED SPEED 191MPH?

The ZL1 1LE has an advertised maximum speed of 191mph.

Has anyone qualified this number?

What are your "real" numbers for maximum speed WITH A FACTORY STOCK-NON MODDED CAR?

Thanks

makes sense as the 6th gear is different in the 1LE. Otherwise, it would easily eclipse 200mph.

Actually, 6th gear is what enables it to reach that speed. The standard ZL1 M6, shifts into 6th at 166-167mph, and has difficulty getting past 175.

The Automatic ZL1 can crest 200...however, the ZL1 1LE is mathematically limited to 198-199 mph by the gear ratios AND the smaller diameter tires. After that, the aero is sucking 8-9 more mph out of that top speed.

As for personal experience - I've never had an opportunity for a full-speed run...hit 150 at NCM MSP once...that was about it.

I have the car's recorder demonstrating 176 mph at the Texas mile (A10 in 7th gear). The car was still climbing well, but chewing up ground quickly.

Because there was so much room to stop, I kept it to the floor past the mile, and reached 180mph with plenty of room to stop. Again, it was still gaining speed pretty quickly, but I'd guess it would take 3 miles or more to reach top speed. I think for the A10 I read that on an oval track it went 202 with the wind and 194 against the wind for an average top speed of 198. Again, that's with the A10 only.

Best I could do was 164 in the work parking lot before the Safety and Wellness Committee shut me down. They said if I did it again, they'd install speed bumps. Bastards!

Setup for what???

Some of us have been PROFESSIONAL RACE CAR OPERATORS FOR YEARS AND OPERATE ON A TRACK OR SANCTIONED EVENTS

I'd sure like to see the Ambient Data for GM's 191mph run, (DA, Weather, Track Conditions etc)
