One of my buddies has a 2017 RS and I have a 2016 2SS and he tried to pull a quick one on me and get me and next thing I know I was going 158... oops. Let's just say he didn't try that again.

My '16 SS has been 191mph. It's modified, check my sig line for details. Just got the engine rebuilt after a broken piston. Haven't got the car back running again but it should be good for 200mph with the new engine.... but to honest it is feels pretty tame compared to the 2013 ZL1.

I've been faster in my C7 than in my Gen 6, but it's damn hard to tell that the Camaro doesn't get there just about as fast

Stock motor, stock tires, 2016 SS, hit 176mph. Both car speedo and dashcams gps registered the same. I have the video somewhere. This car is very easy to accidently speed in as it’s so damn smooth. Not that 176 was an accident, but I have just been driving at what feels like a normal speed only to realize I’m going over 100.
One word of advice if you’re looking to hit top speed in the M6, ignore 6th gear. Even at 160, shifting into 6th will just bog down, very disappointing. |

The time slip photo is from the 2013 ZL1 this last October. The numbers I can read on the Hud in that car are very accurate and match my time slips exactly. Of course with the power that car has the digits are spinning pretty quick when I cross the line and it can go a lot faster.....I saw 214 on the hud before I backed out.

Ok Rayo. You can't play anymore. You are cheating. No jet power cars allowed !!!!
That's some good speed. I would have been hesitant to go that fast in one of my older cars. 70's and 80's camaros when growing up. But after 150 in this thing I wouldn't back up a bit from going all out in it. It is so smooth. Not sure if I would feel the same with another 1000 hp though.lol. Maybe with an ejection seat incase things get sideways !! |

About 75 in my 16 year old son's new '17 RS (V6/A8, still under 2K miles). He doesn't let Mom and I drive it much as he wants to keep it low mileage. Hope he keeps it under 75 and low mileage as two girls in his Jr. class have already totaled cars this winter. Back in the day (summer '87), top end of my '79 L48 vette was 137 ( still climbing, let off). Have had the vette 30 years, guess I'm keeping it!

The wind noise is pretty significant over 160, you can creep over 100 without much warning but once you go about 160+ you really can't ignore the wind noise...it is a roar at 200mph. I'm thinking I have taken 3 people over 200 in the ZL1 and I always put the chrono function in the DIC so I can show them the top speed after the trip. The most common comment is that the sound is pretty terrifying.
