Hello, I am a former Vette guy and have also had a bunch of Mustangs. This is my first Camaro. I have signed the paperwork to trade in my 2017 Mustang GT for a Camaro 2SS Convertible (picking up when I get back from vacation). I had every intention of returning to the Vette, but with 2 kids, I need to pretend I can take them in a back seat.
I am thinking about head and cam setup or maybe a Maggie. I have reached out to Hennessey and Lingenfelter, but would love to find someone closer. Last edited by Drsagacity; 01-09-2018 at 09:28 AM. |

Congrats on the SS Vert! Looks great. I'd do a google search on Hennessey's past, especially on Corvettes before dealing with them. Lingenfelter would be the better choice between the two.

Welcome! Nice looking Camaro!
Callaway would be another name brand to consider. If you are looking for a local recommendation then you might want to reach out the the Southern Illinois Camaro Club for suggestions. They are a great group of people. If your schedule is flexible about starting the project then you might even want to attend CamaroFest 8 in Bowling Green, KY this summer and talk to owners there about their experiences with FI upgrades. An FI upgrade will invalidate the factory drivetrain warranty so you might want to drive the car a bit to be comfortable that all is well before starting an FI project anyway. I like the roots style blower because it comes on so early that standard gearing isn’t a problem. I like the way a head/cam sounds and the improved top end performance is beautiful (but need veering and converter to take advantage of the power band). Thanks for the info...keep it coming. I was about to take my Mustang down the Roush path and decided I wanted the vert before going down that path...that brought me back to the dark side. 😊 |

I will definitely check Callaway. I don’t think Lingenfelter is too far away, so they are definitely a good choice.

CBI is the best choice for gm around here, I actually had the gmpp heads cam setup done at JiM Trenary Chevrolet in Troy with Stainless works and a rotofab dry and Pray IM and TB it went from 389whp to 537whp and sounds bad ass and they stand behind the warrant 100%
