That picture is an "artist rendering". The GT500 will take $90K to get one......That's why this "Ford Boy" went ZL1. I could be wrong, but there is way too much build up. The guys over at the SVTPerformance are about to blow a gasket waiting for any real information.

The only thing that will match the anticipation is the dealer mark up.

Would anybody else consider going Blue Oval if it is in the 700+HP range?

The front end is as evil as my ZL1, I believe.

If you have about a week to kill, there is an 80 page thread over at SVT Performance that started last June.

https://www.svtperformance.com/forum...gt500.1140923/

Interesting read, please don't troll.

There was initially a lot of Mustang owner hate on the 2018, but it has been universally accepted as an upgrade after the performance exceeded expectations and looks better in person.

I’d consider it, but I am not the kind of person that’s going to pay insane ADM for bragging rights. There has got to be at least a handful of dealers out there that will sell this car at MSRP

There will be. I bought a 2010 GT500 with almost $3,000 off brand new. People where going crazy for that car. I waited until February and found one that a dealer was very eager to move durning a PA winter when hotrod sales are nothing. You just have to wait for rich dumbasses who will pay overages to run out on the first ones. Once they start sitting around dealer end their BS.
I bought my Hellcat in similar fashion. Waited for the market to get flooded with lot dwellers. Im currently doing the same thing with the ZL1. Its about time. Although those seem to be much easier to get under MSRP than the 5th Gen was.

While I certainly hope that people are fed up with the markup bullshit and that it won't fly this time I have to say it seems more likely than not. I really wish I could say that we're all getting a bit ahead of ourselves. But seeing some dude brag about ordering a Demon for $40K over MSRP and trying to defend/justify his purchase has me skeptical. I think we will see high markups. The sad part is that all these buffoons would have to do is just not buy the car. After sitting on the lot for so long the dealership will start losing more and more money to the point that they'll have to offer it at MSRP. But we all know that ain't gonna happen. They will be well over what any of us would pay for it and that'll be that. I'll take that same money and buy a car that is actually worth it.

Um, hell yea I would. Depends on pricing tho. You know Ford dealerships love that mark up. Prob gonna run $100k and at the price point, no thanks.

Absolutely. I'm a big fan of the GT350, great car. Ford and Chevy are doing amazing things these days.

I would want a GT500, but in my area, a GT350R was almost unobtainable and for the few that were available, dealers were asking $125K and up...way up. I offered one dealer who had a "demo" (manager had been driving her home each night for a couple weeks) $100K, they said no...I wasn't going to pay more and walked away without a car. I am not sure how "limited" the GT500 is going to be, but I am going to assume it is not going to be mass produced like a standard Mustang, so since I could not get the 350R...I am guessing the GT500 will be out of reach as well. MSRP is not even a real price...Ford dealers are just going to ask for whatever people are willing to pay and unfortunately...it's going to be A Lot...

I would already own a 650 hp mustang convertible ... if they made one in the 2015 style. But they still haven't.

And I am skeptical too on price point. Anything $80k+ is for what again exactly... a badge? No thanks.

You've gotta be kidding me....

Was this before you knew how it performed - and especially against a ZL1 for instance?
