Too much effort. I can already imagine the conversation between the cop and the scumbag when he sees him walking down the street with a recaro over his shoulder..
Agreed about insurance but I've been told by more than 1 dealer there are these Recaro theft rings - not organized - but they basically have a team. 1 walks up to the car and smashes window, slides it back and removes 2 bolts from each seat, pulls the seats out and throws them in the back of a waiting pick up and they're gone in minutes. Aftermarket Recaro's command a hefty price.
But as you said, I don't spend time worrying about it...just marveling at the audacity of thieves.

If they want your sh*t bad enough, they will take it.

But there's no reason to make it easy for them.

Right, and they also said you can order a second key for $10.50. That's what I did so just in case I lose a key I have another one on hand right away. Sent them a letter with my key number and a copy of my receipt, along with $10.50, and they sent me another key. Peace of mind.

I really hate people that think they have the right to help themselves to other people's stuff.

Might be worth a look and see about putting "security" bolts on them.
Problem is that half the time, if a thief gets into your vehicle and gets "something", even the cash out of your console, typically they'll bolt. If they can't find anything of value, they get pissed and trash the inside of your vehicle because how dare you deprive them of their source of income, you commie pr#ck.

Coming from the Jeep world, when I had a soft top, I would leave my doors unlocked and leave some cash in the console. It's far better for someone to open the door, grab the couple bucks and bolt than have them slash the soft top and trash the inside.

Not that I would leave the doors on my Camaro unlocked.. Just an illustration of the idiot mentality.

all a thief needs is a wireless impact and a set of stripped bolt extractors.

If that's my car, the thief will need a Kevlar vest as well.
