My 2005 Silverado with manual controls does this. If the system is off it blows air through the vents. I read the owner's manual when I got the truck and it said this is normal. It only bothers me during winter when it sends cold air from outside. So I change the setting to blow the air to the floor and raise the temp to warm my feet without turning the system on.

I really did not like the one in my BMW 4-series, on auto it would run the A/C continuously, no matter what the conditions (so the dead of winter), which made it take longer to get heat going, and if you didn't have the vents set right it would constantly blow cold air, in addition to the climate control there was some sort of temp gauge on the vent itself, which I didn't figure out for a while, but if you have it set to auto it does whatever it was doing last when you start up the car, no matter what the temp is, so it'll blow cold air full blast rather than wait till it's heated up and then do hot air. I'd rather have no air and let it warm up than be blasted by cold. Due to how frustrating the "auto" was, I simply never ran it on auto, it was kind of ok in the summer at times, but absolutely not in the winter. Camaro system seems better so far.

I noticed with mine, that on full auto and I want the a/c off and have outside air to help regulate the temp. I close the driver vent...weirdest setup ever.

Always on climate controls

Just bought a 2017 camaro ss. I called a dealer and asked the same question. It's normal to have the temp display on and fan speed off. There will always be a little air flow. I believe the service rep said it keeps the blower motor lasting longer if the system is constantly running. There are climate settings that do allow you to choose low, meduim, or high auto climate flow which helps a little i think.

Interesting thread. Maybe I should try changing some of these settings.

I'm over 36K miles and have NEVER turned the A/C off--even in 20 degree weather (except at the track). I just turn the temp up or down to get the comfort level I want. With the A/C always on, the compressor removes excess humidity in the cabin.

Also...I leave it in recirculate mode 100% of the time.
