Nice. Taken care of as they should. I have always said a good dealer is important.

That is great to hear! Great customer service from his dealership is always a plus!

Glad to hear that Trevor is getting taken care of. Hopefully he will get back behind the wheel of his ZL1 quickly!

THEN, GM should replace the entire engine at no cost to owner.
The car is made to race.

I don't know what would constitute abuse on a race car. I take good care of mine, but if the engine pukes while I'm going down the local 1/8th mile I'll be expecting a replacement engine.

I agree, when they advertise a car going around a track, what else would they expect.

The camaro group got together this Saturday for lunch and some mods. Trevor drove his sweet impala rental car as we put some BMR sways on another car. He said all parts are on order and should be at the dealer in 3-5 days. Hopefully he gets it back asap.

Glad he's getting it fixed. As with any mechanical man made item, every once in a while you will have a failure that cannot be helped or foreseen. It's not like his failure is happening to a majority of ZL1's

Lets keep in mind here, this is a certified ZL1 without the original motor, not a generic fully loaded SS model, but is now considered a potential lemon.

Which one will have the higher resale value?

Lets not forget all the cosmetic damage that is not shown in the engine bay.

Surely, if this engine gets replaced under warranty, there will be a way to get a certificate stating this has been done as a factory replacement?

..I doubt one would get a physical form <document>, other than R&R engine on the service invoice, it will be on record though the GM data base/service record. As far as engine VIN numbers and /or replacement codes are concerned, there must be some verifiable number on the powerplant.
