Anyone put some time in with the Corvette Auto 8 speed?

Anyone put some time in with the Corvette Auto 8 speed?

I'm curious what you think of that set up.

Yes.

One word....AWESOME.

I love my M6 ZL1 but the 8spd in the vett shifts quick.

Yes. It is fantastic and I wish my M6 ZL1 had it.

I think it is worth every penny of the cost. In full auto it is fairly seamless and if you ratchet up to Sport or Track it gets very aggressive. I really like the paddle shifters and the response but I did not have it on a track so I can't speak to it there but the reviews are very positive.

www.corvetteforum.com has tons of owner reviews of it, including comparisons to the 6L80 in the 2014 Stingray... might want to check them out.
I'm definitely still a manual guy, but it does sound like the 8L90 is the best torque converter automatic [clarkson]in the world[/clarkson].

Yeah about 3000 miles so far.
Mostly driven very conservatively though, however when put under pressure the shifts are lightning quick when compared to the previous A6 i had.

Yes, I have a 2015 Z51 with about 2500 miles. The 8 speed is a great general cruiser around town and incredible on the track. In track mode I find no real reason to shift it manually. It will hold the gear you are in through the turn as long as you stay in the gas. It seems to learn your driving style and the shifts are lightening quick, manually or automatically. I am very happy with the 8 speed. So far no overheating problems but I have more track days coming up over the summer as it gets hotter, so we will see.

The A8 will be my choice. I don't track my cars(maybe in a straight line) so I'm not worried about the overheating issues. For a daily driver I feel it will be hard to beat.
