Because there are only so many vats availible for paint at the factory, and they have to be shared with the other cars being built there. Most of the colours have to look good on every car. Adding something like Synergy Green (for example) would displace some other paint colour. And while it might work on a Camaro, it would almost certainly be less popular on the ATS & CTS than whatever it is that it replaced.

And don't forget ... 'boring' colours like black, white and silver are almost always the 3 most popular choices.

If there were more choices though, would they still be as popular? Look at the challenger and how many people like the bright green. Of the current colors available for the camaro, I would probably pick black or white, since there's no orange available, for example. I can see orange looking good on the camaro and ATS, bright green, maybe not as much for the ATS. It's just a personal annoyance that there's 2 different, blacks, greys, and reds and not more "fun" colors. Ah well

Front the chart that was on display at the unveiling and a inside picture of the GM dealer playbook for the 2016 Camaro.

There was no word on accessories of any kind besides the wheels. I have no doubt there will be...just wasn't anything at the reveal, or the media day.

Two if you count silver as 'light metallic grey'
