Couldn't do it. Z/28 still isn't a DD.

I must say though that I am honestly disappointed with GM. I wish they would have introduced many features of the z/28 ( seats, cai, brakes....) last year when they put the zl 1 on the market and advertised and promoted it as the ultimate road corse ready pony car.

I hope GM has a heart for us track fanatic 12/13 Zl1 owners and will offer a fair priced performance package to get some of those goodies. If not there are many good aftermarket companies to solve this problem.

At the end OEM'S have to sell cars. Introducing this radical version of the gen5 to the market at the end of its life cycle was the right move.
amen, brother....could GM have designed the ZL1 brakes/brake pads so that, after I drove 20 miles, I didn't have to spend four hours cleaning the dust off of the wheels?....just a question

ZL1 is overall a better car. ZL1>Z28 just like ZR1>Z06

As the facts about the z28 get out, it appears as though the zl1 still is the car thats built tougher.........for drag strip mods, the zl1 is the way to go.........the diff and axles arent as strong in the z28 , mostly for weight reduction.........zl1 still rules

+1. Recaros and carbon brakes should have been options on ZL1

You want track performance but complaining about brake dust? They dust so bad because they are performance breaks. You can put low dust pads on at the expense of performance.

Right now the only car I would consider trading my ZL1 for is the 2014 Stingray convertible.

not me. like the looks of the ZL1 better and like the comforts. The mod potential vs durablity of the ZL1 is better IMO

Nope. If my mindset was to have the fastest camaro out there then I would never be satisfied.

I don't think so. The 9560 COPO with the ZL1 engine was the highest horsepower factory Camaro available in 1969, and the Z/28 was the winner of the SCCA Trans-Am racing class in 1969. It appears to me that each of the new models, ZL1 (highest horsepower and torque) and Z/28 (most track focused), are appropriately badged relative to their 1969 counterparts.

I'm not going to sell my ZL1.

I believe that the new ZL1 and new Z/28 are targeted for different types of typical use.

The new ZL1 is certainly a much more versatile vehicle than the 1969 9560 COPO, as the new ZL1 performs well on the street, the track, and at the strip, while providing amenities for comfortable everyday use, whereas, the 9560 COPO was really only built for the strip, and was not intended for daily driving.

The new Z/28 doesn't appear as if it will be an optimum choice for an everyday street vehicle, as it's clearly built for serious track use at the expense of daily driving amenities.

Scott said in another thread that price hasn't been decided yet.
