It's cool that it's going to be a euro car, but those mirrors and tail lights are fugly! I guess if that's what it takes to be legal....

Sorry not a fan of the tail lights at all....... Reminds me of the new Charger tail lights. I mean have you see that car driving at night? Its tail lights light up the whole street. I was driving on the hwy on night & from a mile away I could tell just from the tail lights it was a new Charger.

Looks like a freakin' Batmobile from the back. Not sure if I like it or not.

Dumbo mirrors are a fail. Glad they're not required here. :flag2:

Lets hope the tail lights stay in Europe. I'd seriously consider not buying the car if those were the only option.

I have to say that those tail lights really don't do a thing for me. I'm hopeful that Chevy doesn't feel the need to Europeanize the Camaro for us in the near future.

Otherwise, I've never owned a performance engine car before. So I don't know how they manage fuel quality, or if they even notice it. Because the only way to measure octane is on a lab bench. No car has the ability to determine the octane level in a production car.
The car can't determine the octane level directly, but if it detects engine knock (caused by the premature combustion of fuel due to it having a lower octane rating than recommended) it will pull back on timing to prevent this. One of the consequences is lower performance.

Back on topic, I am really glad that we don't have those side mirrors or taillights in the states.

Wow, those mirrors are just wretched looking. As for the spoiler not my thing but it isn't bad. The rear lights however are a mystery to me. The sunglasses look does nothing for the car at all. But, if the bottom line had simply been extended straight across you would have a great LED outline of the original 1st gen lenses. That would have been far cooler and would have paid homage to the classic even more.

Scott, nice ride - thanks for sharing the pics! Very cool how the backup lights are integrated into the tail lights.

Enjoy your temporary ride, and once again THANK YOU! for your part in opening the plant to the Camaro (and Firebird) community.
Indeed, Thank You, Scott!! The tour, people, and vehicles were nothing short of AWESOME! A day and experience I will always remember.

@fbodfather
Chevy should make that spoiler an option on the US model, seems to be getting great feedback

The lights are simply "not" Camaro for me, glad I live in the land of the free! (right next to our fine US neighbors, of course!) We don't force all the "safety" standards that the EU does. The mirrors are horrific, they truly make a Dumbo impression and if you factor how slim the original concept cars' were, ours are big the EU ones are huge!

I as well would like to see a full, single tail lamp per side just like the '69. I am sure it's being considered as part of the 2015 re-design. The headlight spray take away by leaving a contour, but the extra functionality of a headlamp cleaner is kinda neat. I almost wouldn't mind having a tow hook cover seam if I thought it would come in handy one day to have the option. I have a Honda Fit that has that and it doesn't seem to take away from that design, but it is a Honda after all...not a Chevrolet!

TKS FBodfather for sharing with us once again!

eB

P.S. I like the rear spoiler though!

The perma-grin effect pictured above by a good buddy giving me a ride in my Camaro!
Used 75 Camaro = $3500
Rolling restoration over 10 years = $5000
$5 of gas burned in 10 seconds = Priceless!

Sorry, I know that I am in the minority, but I like the LED taillights with the integrated backup lights and yellow turn signals. The red reflectors on the rear diffuser look pretty nice too. Scott, thanks for the clear pictures.
