Sorry that is Road and Track not Motor Trend. Might want to correct the title, but thank you for linking it here. It was a very well deserved win for a great car.

Slightly shocked on how they picked the winner. But the 350R isn't putting down any better numbers than the GT350 in straight line.
Congrats to Ford!

I'm wondering how ford is going to get me to pay an extra $25K for the GT350R for the same 0-60 and 1/4 times.
Nobody I know road races these cars. Seems like 95% of the time it's a roll or dig. For street cars these things are just about =.

Hell of a win when you consider the company its in. Nice job to Ford!
short answer, they're not. The car isn't for you. there's a very small group of people that this car appeals to, much like the Z/28. I for one would love to have it, but not for the price. and for that reason the non R version would be what would get my money. |

Congrats to Ford, I thought for sure it was going to be the Z06 or the Viper.
I am not familiar with that tracks lap times so how fast is that? |

True, perfect car for the track rat.
To make it shine it has to be on a twisty, and for me that would be a handfull of unexpected gravel on a corner making the difference between alive and wrapped around an Oak tree.

I think this Mustang is very special and deserves the win. It's a shame that most of the truly great Mustangs live in heated and air conditioned garages or living rooms awaiting the day 20 years hence when market value improves above the original price paid. I'm hoping many will engage in the sport for which this car was born. Congrats to Ford for creating a great track car.

I think it's interesting that they said both the GT350R and the Z06 had very high engine temps. I wonder if the Gt350's will have similar problems that the Z06 has had with over heating.

It didn't turn in the fastest lap times, but still a well-deserved award for Ford. I'm glad to see it did better than the foreign makes. (Except Ferrari...lol...)
I think Ford did well in response to the Z/28 and the Vettes by building a world-class performance car.... The Camaro now has a target in it's sites to respond to....Can't wait to see how the SS, and future Z-Car Camaros will answer back... Congrats again to Ford... |

Nice. The GT350R always looked good on paper, now we see it is amazing in reviews. Can't wait for real world impressions.
