I was definitely not looking for a patch. As soon as I saw it, I knew I was going to be paying big. The sidewall is completely punctured, and I knew that when the tire guy said "You'll be surprised what you can patch". Riiiiigggghhhhttttt.

Sry to here this, sucks!
Last week dealership gave me a $2000 check that they owed me that i didnt realize (thank god they caught it) then 5 mins later pulling out of the dealership i found a screw in my rear tire. Thankfully it didnt punture but the range of emotions in 10 min was amazing.

NEWER UPDATE:
New tire required, $420 and two days of letting her sit in the dealership parking lot waiting on tire shipment. At least I'll have her before Friday, when I put her in to get the new stripes put on... UPDATE: According to the dealership, a patch is going to be good. He's going to get it in the shop in an hour or two and get a better guage. I told him he might as well just get the new tire, cause there's no patching this. Maybe a quick patch will last until Tread Quarters gets in a new one, I think they're going to be better priced anyway.

Because customer service died years ago...
I found the tire down in Virginia Beach at a dealership that told me it would be $352 for tire, mounting (giggity), and balancing. Unfortunately my car isn't in good enough shape to get all the way down there. So, I drove 30 mins (each way) to pick up the new tire on my lunch "hour". Got a call from my service center on the way back from picking it up and was told "Sorry, we won't be able to get the tire in for two to three days, there are NONE in the area". He then offered to give me a loaner car for the time required to get the tire in (thank goodness). I then said "I have good news for you then, I have one in the back of my girlfriend's truck, and I'll be there in about 20 minutes." Needless to say, I arrived to a not-so-happy service manager asking me where I got the tire. I told him what dealership I picked it up at and how I found out they had one (it's called a phone, dude). He said he was sorry, they make runs everyday from that location and if they had it in the system properly, this wouldn't have happened. Unfortunately, his "guys" where at lunch and will hopefully have it done in the next hour. Now, this is where it gets interesting for me. They wanted $49 to mount (hehe)/balance the tires and dispose of the old tire. I could have gotten it free at the other dealership, if I could have made it. I wonder just how much they're going to expect me to pay after securing a vehicle, driving an hour, and personally delivering the tire to them...

I have an idea how this occurs: Front tire hits the nail and causes it to tumble; back tire hit it as it tumbles and as luck would have it.....puncture.
Sorry about that! I hate nails in the road! |
