Are you saying that 1967 Camaro, S/N 0001 was a 6-cylinder?
74% of the first year Camaro's were V8s. Just researched it and serial # 0001 was indeed a 230 cu 6 cylinder. Now of the first year Corvette (1953), ALL 300 of them were 6 cylinder.

I bought my v6 because it was fun, looked great, and insurance/mpg were great. I don't think anyone buys a v6 thinking its the same performance as a v8 (excluding turbo/supercharged versus stock owners). That would be like buying a v8 thinking it has the same performance as a laferrari. I'd also pick a camaro over a honda everyday lol. Heck, I'd pick a supercharged riding lawn mower over a honda.

Yes, Camaro number one was a six! Then somebody yarded it, and dropped in a V8 to go drag racing. Years later it was discovered again, and restored to its original glory! Very cool story! There's a video about it somewhere. Probably on YouTube.

I agree....a v6 accord imo is a much better car overall. Nice looking with a solid build history. A v6 is a v6. But it's nicer in an accord.

Seriously!? Nothing wrong with a V6 Camaro performance wise. It beats the crap out of the small block V8 on my old '79 Camaro. Hell, the new Turbo 4 on the 6th gen beats the crap out of my '79. *sigh*

Along the same line, we should have all got BMW 7 Series sedans. A V8 is a V8 (twin turbo in the Bimmer). But it's nicer in a 750i

I don't see why anyone would buy anything other than a Veyron... I mean, really.

I know I had 3 different salesman and they all told me incorrect information when was purchasing. Good thing I researched everything on line first.

Guy's it's not just pony car specific so no need for hurt feelings (not MY intention). Before I purchased my 2013 srt8 Jeep grand cherokee I looked at the (used) Porsche Cayenne non turbo. Guess what? The 6 cylinder (didn't even know they made them like that) was in my price range but the gts, and s (V8) were both out of my range (I paid in full, did not want to finance). I just simply picked something different although I preferred the Cayenne s awd (V8).
What was the point of buying a fast performance awd suv if I got it in a 6 cyl (although like the camaro it's not a pos) and looks the same as the 8 cyl and turbo. Do I race my Jeep? No, Doubt it has been over 100 mph since ownership. It is very fun for what it is and a 6 would have been out of the question. Same goes for trucks (2wd vs 4wd). Only 4x4 for me no questions about it. |

Yeah make sure to avoid those GT-Rs, can you believe they pass those off as performance vehicles with a lowly V6 in them... The nerve!
