I leave mine all on the time. It's weird to drive without it. Aren't the HUDs just LCDs that are projected onto the windshield? If so, I'm probably sure most LCDs have a typical 60,000 hour lifespan. They will dim over time though.

My HUD is on all the time. It is the main reason I got the 2LT model

I leave my HUD on all the time. I have the brightness cranked to high. All I need now is to add a targeting reticle and a missile armed indicator. I can make the whooshing sound myself.

Yeah, they told me just one day, but think they got delayed on waiting for the new unit to arrive... You're brave. I don't think I could even attempt taking the dash off let alone cutting into it

I sit pretty tall in my Camaro, and the only way to see the actual speedometer is to have the steering wheel in the highest position. Needless to say, I have never driven it without the HUD turned on.

I keep heads up display on and the DIC on average mpg. I look at the actual tach though. The one in the HUD never works for me and I don't like it.

The HUD is new for so I cant answer your question about having it on all the time but, I sure enjoy it on all the time.
