What the heck happened with my auto?
I was hoping this issue would go away....
This is for an automatic. But it shows to still be an issue. Here is what happens. 1. I'll be at a stop sign. (THIS IS IN MANUAL/SPORT MODE) 2. I'll rev up (Nothing crazy just to get going) 3. My car REFUSES to shift for some reason 4. My rpm gets to 5000 at like 20-25 km an hour in first gear 5. For some reason my car activates my paddle shift. 6. Now at this point if I dont shift myself my car would rev to the limit. Why is this happening? I do have trifecta tune built around the nitrous timing. I have to figure this out before It blows my engine beacuse I am running nitrous now. Any idea?

Sports mode tends to hold your rpm at a higher range before shifting.

It said "S" then out of now where it went to "M1" without touching paddles. And no, the system is not armed all the time.

I think I know what OP means....
I've put my auto trans in M (Sport Mode) without activating the paddle shifters, and the car seems like it can't shift. Almost as if it's holding the Rev in one of the gears way longer than I should. I'm aware the rpms are higher in S mode, but like I said, feels stuck in gear. Is that what you meant? |

Have never experienced that. However, i have experienced the old stuck in gear when your in the twisties in S mode. It actually does get flaked out due to the yaw sensors and the nannies. depending on how your in the throttle and how much roll you have going on. At that point you gotta paddle out of it. In this scenario though it does not show it in manual mode but rather just stuck in a low gear with high revs. I can make this happen at will by getting on it hard then braking hard and then hitting it again good out of the turn. Too much roll and your stuck in gear revving to the moon.
I can eliminate most of it by going into comp mode or with nannies off. My tranny has been well tuned with the pressure notched down with quick hard shifts. It cut out some of it but not all for sure.

Ask your tuner.

I haven't yet ... It doesn't happen too often, but has happened at least a few times. I still have bumper to bumper warranty, so I may have them take a look and see if it's anything wrong.
It only happens in M, not D. Must be the car mixing up S and M modes or something? I'll PM you if I hear anything from Chevy next time I'm in for service. |

Waaaaait! My nannies are all off because I love full throttle. And Now that I am thinking of it... I put my foot on the gas, then braked for a second (Hesitated) then put my foot down again.... I wonder if I confused the car.... Is this possible?

Yes it is. This tranny does not like you getting on it then braking and getting back on it quickly. Especially in curves or turns. |

The car is tuned from the factory to keep the revs up high in Sport mode when you are driving aggressively because it believes you are road course racing. That is Sport mode and is normal.
What isn't normal is it switching over to paddle shifting when not touching the paddle buttons. I have no idea if a car can be tuned like that (By mistake I would hope). Talk to your tuner.
