SOCAL.M6.ZLE !!! You have to crack a smile from ear to ear ever time you fire that bad boy up!!! Your build is one of the best I've seen anyone do in their own garage, just incredible. Congrats! You've also inspired me to keep reaching for the next mod for mine! Also, thank you so much for your time on the phone yesterday! You help shed light on how mods work or don't work together! Thanks for your confirmation I was heading in the right direction! Now, time for a Build Log Update and add that intercooler ! I agree, a video walk around and even a cold start and a quick run would be SWEET! Take Care!

I limit the private track rentals to 20 cars only so everyone has an open track! I should have all my cooling mods done by this date, now that I have SoCal's bar on the table ready to be installed with the other goodies!!
The car is great Now, however I have not been back to the track due to numbness in my feet and sorting out the new car which took all last year.

Thanks for the invite

I am sorry I will not be able to make the event.

Thanks for the kind words Scott, happy I could help over the phone! I never thought of doing a "walk around" video, but if it would help others, ill add it to my list

Ok, just updated HPT so I could read the log, that the dyno shop did for me... Ted said the fueling looked good (maxing out my JMS)... IAT.3's were at 117F on the first pull and 128F on the second with a peak of 13.4psi

Boost was as follows...

3k = 12.8psi
4k = 13.5psi
5k = 12.5psi
6k = 12.0psi

With boost dropping, I assume my standard rotofab might be holding me back now...
I also only got the standard Katech blower porting. Similar to the Kong Standard porting...

Your next move is a Magnuson 2650 Just made 872.5 RWHP 802 RWTQ on E44 Same fueling combo 18 psi.

Ted.

Those are great numbers! I think I finally realized I'm in the max effort 1.7L club. At first, I could not afford the 2650. But even now that I can... I like the idea of maximizing the 1.7L a little further.

All the Kong X PORTS I see hold boost to redline...
Makes me think I could also drop to E40, pick up 2-3 peak psi and make 825rwhp and 800rwtq...

Then when I add the proper low-side... go back to E60 and maybe hit 850rwhp?

Paddling up river, who are you trying to impress?

You already paid to have the blower ported once and now you want to port it again but nothing to improve cooling bricks in the blower.

Just get the 2650 and stop playing in the kiddy pool. LOL

Ted.

For as much as he's spent on that lil blower he could have bought 2 Maggies......and I noticed on their website they finally got a CARB number for Cali....

Trust me... I love the 2650 product, and would absolutely go that route if my power goals were higher.

My journey started with only wanting a choppy idle, and more blower whine... figured 700rwhp would be where I stopped with the stock fuel system. Also had a tight budget at the time.

Now at 770rwhp... I love the power level... 2nd gear only hooks 20% of the time... but 4th gear feels like it could use more power... So I will likely keep going.

Like I said earlier... not sure why, but I really like the idea of keeping the stock blower, and finding ways to maximize its performance. I do agree, it will suck to have the blower re-ported but it will still be 1/2 the price of a 2650.

Keep in mind, the my investment in the Katech port + upper pulley was only $1,450... So, If I end up with the Katech lowside... and send the blower to KONG for an X-PORT, I will still only be $3,350 +/- into the stock blower.

As for the silly question "who am I trying to impress"? The answer is no one. Not sure why, but I like the idea of wringing more power from the stock blower, and love the whine from the faster blower speeds. IAT's have not been an issue with the cooling mods I made, so i think I am good to spin the blower a little faster and will likely stop at 850rwhp +/-

This has been such a fun process, despite the few steps back, and I have really enjoyed sharing the experience with all of you
