Convertible owers how is your XM reception?

My XM loses signal a lot. Am wondering if other convertible owners have the issue since the antenna is located on the trunk lid.

nope. no issues here. aside from the momentary loss in a parking deck or under a bridge, nothing unexpected.

The am/fm antenna is located in the spoiler, the XM is in the shark thing on the trunk lid, no issues here except i am getting ready to change the spoiler and haven't figured out what to do with the antenna.

I notice a little bit of loss when I go under an overpass or pull in the garage. Otherwise pretty good.

Honestly, I think it is just XM in general. The only time I get reliable reception is driving through the suburbs. If you get into a big city, reception is blocked by buildings. And, if you drive the upper forested expanses of Michigan, you lose reception through the trees. When I go to hill country in Kentucky or Tennessee, you get on the wrong side of a hill and you lose reception until you come out.

But that is XM, and the advantage is that you get the same station everywhere - as long as you have a clear line of sight to the satellite.

Looks like a trip to the dealer since the issue is not from tall buildings or wooded areas. In heavy traffic it seems cars and trucks are effecting the signal.

My car has the worst reception ever. Every other car ive owned with XM has never gone out like this.

Interruptions in a tunnel are to be expected.

Simply driving down the damned street in FLORIDA and having the XM cut out repeatedly is just obnoxious.

I think the car needs to go in.

OP, let me know if your dealer diagnoses an issue.
