Is the v6 engine in our camaro a noisy engine naturally? Am I suppose to just get use to the engine sounding like a fan is always running and the tick,tick,tick,tick associated with the already a noisy engine? Is it safe to say that our engine sound like a hooptie?

Yes, you will get used to it. The ticking you hear is the sound of the high pressure fuel injectors operating. Its the sound of Direct Injection.

Is your car stock? My LLT is so quiet I can only hear the belt moving on the pulley.

Mine is stock and I hear the injectors all the time. Plus there is the high pressure pump clicking, but that's an other issue.

When I switched to Mobil1 it got quiet.

All stock. Right before coming to a stop I can hear what sound like the radiator fan turning off, it happen every time. Im not sure if it really is some sort of a fan actually making this noise or if is just the engine. Not sure if this is normal.

I have a 2011 LS and my engine is not loud at all. You hear the normal fan, and some engine noise. But no ticking or fuel pump noise. Also everyone has a different interpretation of loud. I have a Ecotech 4 cylinder that is loud.

I have a 1LT which makes a "tick" noise, from the sound of it though... and how its distance between said "tick" isnt always the same from my naked ear makes me want to dismiss it as normal DI engine. Anyone have a sound bite by any chance? Google isnt providing much help... Thanks.

Wanted to clarify: Roughly 4/5s of a second, maybe a full second between each tick, sometimes more. /shrug. Loud injectors are loud?

Pretty much what it seems... mentioned it in a dif thread... started a dif one at the dealership with 38 miles, and it made the same tick noise. There still gonna look at it... but it seems to be normal, harmless, and will become unhearable in the near future. Similar to the CVT hum at low RPMs i had in my Altima...
