I do miss my T-Tops the most about my 4th gen. If it wasn't so damn expensive, and if the a-pillar didn't look so silly with them, I would totally bite the bullet on this car.

T-tops were on the 4th Gen. also.
Yup, but the 4th gen was a sad time. I hate the look of them. 4th gen almost put the Camaro into extinction.

I cut my mullet off when I turned 30. My wife cried when I came home from getting my hair cut that day. Chicks digged it - even up north where I am from originally.

This guy had it done:
post 5 in his build thread.
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=198052

Really not much metal left in the roof. And seeing it had a sunroof from the factory, all the re-enforcement has been removed.
The WCC one they left the reverse mowhawk which kept some of the main structure intact.

I had a 2000 Firebird with the T-tops and loved them. I wish Chevy offered it on the 5th gen rather than the convertible.

The only advantage they have over a convertible is they are more secure when parked in a sketchy neighborhood.
There is more than more secure, they look awesome when the tops are out. There is a lot less wind noise. I don't like the look of a convertible top.

Have you ever owned a car with T-Tops? What is so difficult about putting the tops into the trunk? You don't have to handle the tops like they are about to come apart. The ones I've had were pretty robust & I never worried about being super careful so I didn't break them.

I think they look hideous on a 5th gen. No way would I pay any amount of money for someone essentially ruining my car. The T-tops look good on the previous generations because they were designed with the car's shape. With my 4th gen, I like them because they are generous with allowing light inside of the car (like an oversized sunroof).

But no thanks on my 5th gen.

I loved the T-tops on my 3rd gen... even in light- moderate rain, as long as I kept moving at over 50 MPH or so, I could stay dry.

Having to manually unlatch them, and carry them to the storage area under the hatch was a small price to pay for having a real bitchin' Camaro!

Has anyone spent the money to have T-Tops put in? If so do you have any pics? Any problem with wind noise, or leaks? Any major changes to your roof? Are you happy with them?

My Trans Am T-Tops had a leak on the drivers side front left corner, when it was raining and I hit the brakes I would get a little stream of water that would make my left thigh and knee wet. It was more annoying than anything but it was SOOO worth it having the T-Tops.
there is a company that hooked up with GM that made special T-Tops for the new Camaro so it does not void the warranty and it increases the value of the car... I believe they should all have T-Tops! this is what I learned at SEMA in Detroit when they revealed the T-Tops, I am a die hard SS Girl and I wouldn't own any other car, but I sure do miss my 1968 SS Camaro my parents bought me at 16
