I filled up 2 days before gas prices started going crazy. It's either been ccld or raining, or both since then. Hoping prices get a grip before I start driving out my "cheap" gas.

Yup, and it will drop even more in a week or so, then go up again, etc., meanwhile everyone is panicking and acting like it's the end of the world. Like I said in an earlier post, this had nothing to do with normal "supply and demand" economics - there was no shortage, evident by no gas stations closing down or the infamous gas lines in the 70's - this was pure market manipulation based on politics and media sensationalism. Saying all that, I'm not surprised - look at the folks who hoarded water and toilet paper when the pandemic began - still don't understand that scenario but that's another topic.

Also beware of the "Overton Window" technique in play here. Get you used to paying over $5 a gallon then you'll be thankful when it drops to $3.99. You think you're getting a great deal.

Funny you mention this. The other day I was filling up at a Sunoco and it cut me off at $75. Then happened again at a convenience store pump. I thought it was weird.

If we don’t start curbing our driving, they will create an artificial gas shortage. Then you WILL see closed stations and gas lines again. See also that a ‘Covid surge’ is back too? They brought Fauci out of his bunker long enough to say, “new restrictions might be necessary.”

A lot of stations do that - it's more of a credit limit or transaction issue than current gas prices. I used to run into that when filling up big rental trucks or even dual tank older Suburbans.

Well....gas prices aren't much of an effect on my 2010 anymore. Guess she decided she couldn't take the prices anymore.

Started it yesterday morning and heard some bottom end chatter.....9 months after buying it..
